While you can't look up and down in DOOM 1 and 2, you still can go up and down like the enemies. That's the technology that John Carmack worked on, he was the one creating the Oculus Rift. This technology made 3D gaming more possible than ever before. The next thing are the basics that every shooter has, for example, if you get hit in any modern shooter you see some indication on your screen from where this hit came from. That was invented in Doom if you get hit your screen turns red and the head of the Doomguy looks in the direction where you were hit. So players could know from were they getting shot at. Before Doom, shooters weren't as liked as platformers or other Jump n' Run games. With Wolfenstein 3D and Doom, the genre just boomed and many began to develop in this genre.

I must of spent so many years playing Commander Keen as a kid in the 90s! Such a great game. I remember playing Doom on a floppy disk that was from America on my Dad's PC in 1993/94 as well. Memories, I remember getting doom when I was like 5/6 my Dad made my year!

The Delta Force series was amazing. I spent so many hours playing the same levels in single player and sometimes multiplayer. Black Hawk Down was the best for multiplayer.

I also played Megaman and another game I used to play with my sister unfortunatnly I don't reamember the name of it, but you were a snake and ate stuff to get bigger but if you hit a monster u lost some of your leangth and in the water was another monster I remember both me and my sister was scared of it and when whe were in the water we waited till the monster was really close before we went back up on dry land. not the best english but atleast u understand hopefully
