The Klipsch Forte II is an excellent speaker. That's why they've kept making the Forte's for 40 years.. I have more high end speakers in my home theater and they are truly accurate but when I want to sit down and listen to something new or old, I always listen with the Klipsch Forte II's. They thrill. If someone is looking for flaws, maybe they'll find some, but I don't hear them. I've been around the block in the audio world and these speakers never fail to impress, like I'm always hearing the music for the first time. And for me, that's where it's at. Covers on.
I have a pair I bought new in 1985 and did the Crites upgrades…I have tried a lot of different amps tubes and solid state…in the last month I put in the Pass Labs XA25 Class A amp and the Pass Labs XP-12 Preamp it’s never sounded this good in the whole time I have owned them..
@@allwheelsdown5646 ….i have tried so many different amps, i am 70 so many many amps over the years…if you have a chance to try the Pass gear I mentioned it will be your end game gear..
After fixing the passive woofers. pull the speaker 6 or 8 inches away from the wall. I have the Chorus which is older model of Forte. I dont have passive woofer in the back
I just obtained two pair of the 14 model 3s.. sequential numbering.. and they sound freaking awesome.. honestly better than the f o r t e model 2. And not as messed up as the 3:11 f o r t e model 4 .. receive the full 10-year warranty on what was purchased half the price
I found mine at a Goodwill with dj style carpet over the wood and no grills. Tweeters blown out ,it might of been pass down to a teenager and he fixed them up to his liking. But for $80 for both ,not bad. The carpet pulls off easy enough, I'll make a screen cover and order a set of tweeters from Crites.😊
Lack mids and highs. Old technology and the wooden box creates too mich vibrations,. hence creating a major disproportionnal and distorted bass. It simly has the sound of the oldies at least 30 years ago!! These speakers have many problems with their woofers that blow easily, with their tweeters and with an unstable pitch, especially in the mids.

@@bobmorton7814 I love mine and they sound great, but I don’t have the space to really see how much better they can be with the best placement.

Sorry, they are gone already. Turns out they needed refoamed or replacement 12"WOOFERS. Sold them for around $600.
