I’ve had one in my tank about that size. I’d see him out on the sand every night. Definitely a weird creature but I think they’re a good cleanup crew member
Eeeeeeew! One time we found one of them on a shipment, and dropped it in a tank to check it out, and this unknown snail came suddenly tearing out of the substrate, turned its body, like, into a blanket, wrapped the whole filthy worm, and disappeared back into the sand. It was awesome.
Fire worm. Maybe. Have you ever seen the giant blue ones?? I've seen bigger in my LFS. We remove them. Lol. So trick if you get spines in you from one of these you can remove them easily by taking a Kent yellow scraper blade and while holding perpendicular to your skin scrape them off and they come out completely.
To all the current and soon to be reefers out there: similar to what @MrBestshot33 said, one of the best ways I've found to treat a bristleworm "attack" is to take a single edge razer blade (one that you would use in the 'tank, NOT YOUR FACE) and holding it perpendicular to your skin, push it across the area that has bristles in it. I have had zero luck using duct (or gorilla) tape afterwards to pull out more of the bristles, but shaving them off seems to minimize how deep they can go, and I usually see one or two intact hairs on the blade. I still get some swelling and tenderness, but not as bad. (I'd rather not think I'm building an immunity, that's not an idea I enjoy...)
Keep him, keep him. Make him the store mascot. Kinda looks like a bloodworm but I couldn't see the mouth. You can ship it to me, i'll set him up in a pico. I have about a half dozen critters I pulled from my tanks in their own tiny container. Even get water changes lol.
@@fragboxcorals whatever is on the website doesnt look like what you guys have. I need the flow to go 90 degree like you guys have it. The return pump is too powerful to face it towards the front, its just kicks up the sand. If you could attach a link to whatever the piece is I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you FragBox fam!!!!
The biggest I had was 3 feet long fire worm. I had to cut it in 3 parts. One foot of it lived in the pet shop tank I worked at. It is One creature I don't like. My entire arm blistered from brushing my arm against it. I kept finding fish pulled into rocks. That was how I found it. 😂 I also had a 4 foot black worm with a bright blue head and mouth. Thise where the days of bringing in real love rock direct from Fiji. We had weird hitchhikers. ❤
That is a fire worm. I have had one a bit bigger. The fire worm did not come close to when I found the Bobbit worm. I ran when I saw it. That thing was active. It is funny to see Tia just touch and pick up anything but if she found a Bobbit worm I bet she would not touch that lol.
Run your fingers through your hair, for removal of bristles For Samsung 22 Ultra plus, use photo pro and up the white balance to 10000k or less depending on strength of blue light. Not sure about video, never played with it.
I think once you find a pest, you have to toss out all the expensive corals. Every last living creature needs to die and go in the trash. I don't know why someone would consider just killing a living creature they are suppose to take care of because of a pest.
Tia's face whenever she picks up the worms hahaha, I feel the same way.

"He's getting shy"
He's not shy Tia and March, you have the AC on. Too cold.
Like a frightened turtle

They're great because they'll adjust their populations depending on the amount of waste in the tank.

Happy to see another Fragbox video!
Ted, the bristle worm that lives with me, is even bigger than that 😂
“I wanna know what it feels like”
I’m yelling No! Like March can hear me.
I thought the title was going to be clickbait. It wasn’t…
Couldn't you tell from the thumbnail it wasn't?
@@HeftyReefs I pressed on the notification as it came up on my screen. Now I see the thumbnail lol
You are a Brave Man! 😮
Took one for the team 🔥
Loco's store today got a good one 😅😂😂
Holy Bristleworms Batman
I'd take the worm in a heartbeat, nice one!
That has to be the biggest lol. I have one in mine that is so big my arrow crab won't go after it lol. But the girth on yours is nuts!
That’s what she said
That worm reminds me of the movie "tremors" eeeeew

Can you please make a video on the new shipment that comes tonight?
lol Dr. Frankinstien see you at palooza New York, Im going to see victor tomorrow if he's home. lol
Just watched a video of one that had to be over five feet, guy found it while breaking down his aquarium
I once found a 20cm one in my reef

I just use a hairdryer on my finger before using tape.
That's a fire

That's a fireworm I can tell

My son wants it as a pet😅
I've done a night dive in hawaii where they were millions all over heavily concentrated to the surface. It was like a horror movie
that would be cool to see !
I just got done with snorkeling in Hawaii tonight and our whole crew got stung by these creatures.
@@jepriy ouch
Damn I did not know Tia was trucked up like that at 2:14
He got caught because he was such a hard working tank cleaner that he got too big
I want it
I used to have an awesome big one like that in my 200 gallon
you can have this one if you want
I heard a story of one that got so bit it ate his goby. I'm finding it unlikely. But the stories I've heard.
That peppermint shrimp next to it says not cool dropping moby worm on his head … 🤓🥴🤪
I encourage everybody to look up Steve Weast from OregonReef “The Worm”. A fijian bristle worm about 6 feet long
This worm is straight out of my nightmares. Question: how did worm strive in frag tank, you don't have any sand there?
living under some plexiglass
Finger goes numb......hand goes numb.........arm goes numb............head........................................
Fireworm
Sellotape at the right angle pulls them all out. Done it many time by accident.
This is why I can’t keep saltwater
That's long and thick.. and shrinks when people look at it. The bristle worm is big too
I have one that big
Hmm THATS FISHING BAIT
I also grabbed a small one never saw the bristles
I had 2 close to that size in my 20H.
In a Nano? Ouch
Feed it to an arrow crab
Whatre the attachments you guys have on the return pump for the reefcasa 6 gallon. Vivid creative aquatics? Which pieces?
You can buy them directly through the reefcasa website

One night I found a 4-5inch Leopard Polyclad Flatworm and I almost burned the tank down...

That looks more like a fire worm than a bristle... Not fun guys.
That camera does not like blue light
This is small they get up to 10 feet long dude
Yikes 😱
That’s a fireworm. Throw it away
Any luck and it will eat that peppermint shrimp
It is ugly but that looks like one of the beneficial ones it’s probably just a scavenger
Size doesn't matter!
Get the Flame thrower! 🔥
It's a harmless detrivore. Why are people so shitty.
That’s a goddam bristle snake not a worm

Everyone: NO. BRISTLE.
98% of the time it's not a fireworm.
I’m guilty but I have ones that look just like this and about this size. This video makes me feel a little better.
Thats what you possibly can be getting in your tank when you buy coral from them. He tells everyone he doesn't dip his incoming coral
🤢🤢🤢🤮 I find smaller ones in my tank and I want to throw up!
