- This is mostly a tale of my wild journey to the Bentwood coffee and espresso grinder. Is it smart? Is it the end? Is it the ultimate? Does it even make the best coffee? WHO KNOWS, but it's something, and through the long winded explanation you may learn why I like it.
I could add a bit more, but I'm ok with this as a first pass. In future videos, I might go into specific detail on certain aspects of the overall ownership experience.
Machine: Londinium LR24

Big motor = big body. Totally agreed its not just about the burrs. Great video Mike.
Great video, thanks!
I have a V63 paired with ACS Vostok.... great combo...
That’s a killer combo!
LOVE this video! Really looking forward to watching future videos and learning more from you and your experiences!
Great review! Nailed it!
Nice video man!!! I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on the Londinium 😉
Good idea! I’ve had a weird espresso path, too.
great video :) thank you!
Do you know what they saying in my language
n-ai cap vai de picioare lol
No head, poor legs lol
That is a pain in the ass not a grind lol 😮😢😢
Well now I want a Bentwood.
It pairs well with a Londinium 👀

Hi, thanks for this good overview. May I ask with single dose hopper you are using? Thanks!
It was a 3d printed hopper using a common bellows you would find from a DF83 grinder.
when you mentioned that you had no budget, what made you decide against buying one of the more luxury home grinders? e.g. option-o or weber?
Good question! I think at the time the larger option O 98mm just came out and I wasn’t 100% sure how well it did. Seeing the BW used at comp also helped me feel sure about my purchase. Lastly, this is my own preference, but I’m not totally sold on the coffee SSP produces.
Oh, and EG1? One day 😂 just a little toooo out of my “no budget” budget.
I like your logic on dialing in. In fact as a person swtching diffrent beans a day I intuitively use same logic on grind setting, even dialing in new beans. Having a grinder to give such an option on adjusting is really useful. My question is did you think about Zerno? As the grind setting is similar to Bentwood. Smaller foot print etc.
I’ve thought a lot about it. My only concern is not getting the same flavor profile that I like from the vast array of SSP burrs out there. Probably possible, but it’s a rabbit hole I haven’t yet decided to go down. I purchased the BW before the Zerno was out. I may have gone with the Zerno if I had the choice today.
@@mikflores You may look around your coffee community to find a chance of flavor profile test on Zerno. BW is a really nice commercial grinder but for home use as you experienced the maintenance may include some extra efford.
@@DaddyMakesCoffee I was also talking to myself on the downsides of it. 🤣 I’m not looking forward to selling it as I am tempted to move on to another grinder. In a way it’s good for me so I’m forced to keep it and enjoy it.
Where did you get your bellows?
It was a 3d print from a friend, and the bellows are from a df64. The base screws directly onto the grinder body and the bellows slip right on.
Nice one! How's the Londinium?
Thanks! I need to talk about that. Overall, it’s great and does what I want from a machine. As someone who suffers from analysis paralysis at my day job, I try to avoid it in other places.
@@mikflores very cool. Look forward to hearing more on it!
