WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Should Roblox limit roleplay games to Ages 13+?
KreekCraft you sussy baka
No
I think it should.
Idk

I think they should add a special feature to the account settings where parents can manually block games.
Agree
true
Yea they should
yeah
I had a sister and I made her get out of one of those games, she found another one and joined in the next 10 seconds
This is not Roblox’s fault. Parents need to check in on their kid’s devices and their recently played. If it has inappropriate content, punish them. Just be a decent parent. That’s all you need to do.
I think something that also caused old roblox to be more appropriate is because back then, there were no (or very limited amounts) of teens that had genuine experience with roblox. Back then it was just only kids and adults. Now the children that used to play have gotten older and instead of just playing games as they should, they look for other ways of amusement in said games, because they have repeated the process of playing them normally enough times. This is just my theory though, i could be completely wrong lol
As an ex-Roblox player I can definitely understand where these parents are coming from. Roblox was a fun platform where these types of games didn't exist yet. The scariest game at the time was *Escape Jeff The Killer* or *Escape Area 51* and that was about it. Now kids can play games that can cause a trauma and will make them scared of anything which isn't supposed to happen on a kid-friendly game such as roblox. Age restriction was also available at that time so if you compare the Roblox from then with the Roblox from now you'll clearly see a significant decrease of child protection + more games and toxic people that can injure a child's mental health. Roblox should really step up their game.
They really need to improve their moderation
agreed
But god forbid you say “discord” in chat😂
Oh my
Dude I liked those games as a kid the actual pain in my chest I got from seeing Jeff bc of fear was a lil satisfying and Area 51 too hard to explain but i myself enjoyed it at the time
is that Jeff the killer one anything like survival the jeff the killer lol
I think roleplay games should have a special roleplay tag, and if a setting is changed to block games with the roleplay tag those games can no longer be played. This way if a parent sees inapropriate scinarios coming up on their child's screen, they are simply able to block roleplay games and never worry about it.
Or just block games

think about this scenario:
you are a principal that walks into a teacher's classroom. you see students misbehaving but the teacher doesn't notice it. later, you blame the teacher for the students misbehaving and the teacher is fired from their job.
would it make more sense to punish the kids, or was it right to punish the teacher because they weren't fully doing their job?
if you havent already figured it out, the teacher represents roblox moderation, the principal represents a parent, and the students represent bad influences on roblox.
i feel like the kids should be punished because they were misbehaving, but the teacher should also get some punishment for not catching them. but its a very tricky and opinionated situation. and its even more complicated in roblox, where you cant directly punish kids that are misbehaving on roblox because of its non-working report and moderation systems.
what do you think is right? leave a reply, i'll read it :)
When it comes to RP games, for me it highly depends. For example games that are also focused on trading such as Royal High or Adopt Me at this point aren't really RP games anymore. They technically still are, but most people decide to ditch that aspect of play in favor of focusing on getting the best items/pets. I believe games like these should remain All ages. However others such as Brookhaven, Welcome to Bloxburg, etc, I believe should at least be considered to go up to 9+, since these games are mainly RP centric games with player-bases that do such. (Welcome to Bloxburg may be exempt due to the house building aspect being a large drive for playing.) Essentially, not all RP labeled games are actually RP games anymore. Those that are still RP games may need to be reconsidered, those that are not RP games anymore should stay how they are.
Kreek gets the point.
Roblox is a platform with millions of games, making it almost impossible to moderate every single thing.
Most of the time with the games, it's usually the players who are making it inappropriate. Such as online dating, etc.
The parents seem to not get the point. If they see that their children are experiencing something inappropriate, they shouldn't be calling out to everyone and roblox like that. If they see a particular game "harming" their children in offensive ways, they should just tell their children to stay away from it. Maybe tell them why, but if they don't listen, their child is the one who is not listening, not the whole platform.
Honestly, parents are just trying to help their children out, and may misunderstand some parts. These games also can't do much about this problem, considering it's usually the players.
Roblox also can't rate all the games, if you think about how the platform has millions to billions of games, and many players. The developers also can't do much, except fixing glitches and bugs and moderating the games. The players got to understand what is happening around them, and how they may affect others by doing these inappropriate actions.
If roblox wants to step in to help, they can inform the developers to moderate their games, or add in more settings. Roblox has a moderation team, but most likely not enough to moderate the whole platform. This is probably where their bad moderation comes out. I can agree with that, as there are many inappropriate things happening in roblox games.
Basically, please understand what is going around you, and think before acting in a way that may affect others.
But yeah. Huge respect to Kreek for helping out in the conflict.

As a developer, I was not able to give my game an age rating due to being retired, so my game was left as N/A. Recently, it was automatically given an All Ages rating. Even though my game does meet the All Ages category, i suspect there are other games out there that have not been rated, and was given an automatic All Ages rating.

In my personal opinion I think what Roblox should do is Make a separate rating just say for example called “Roleplay” and make it so all ages can play but maybe a little pop up would come up telling you that the online interactions that happend in the game are not age rated
I think roblox should add a feature to block certain types of games. For example: Roleplay games, shooter games, violent games. Although the ratings are there, this still happens. A developer can set multiple types to say what the game is like. Players can report a game if it doesn't have the right tag so roblox can put it to it's correct category. Then, parents can block games such as these.
Edit: MOM IM FAMOUS! Anyways thx for 70 likes I didn't expect this comment to be popular! Also ty kreek for hearting.
Imagine there’s a violent game that is call my mom 💀
This isn’t funny aight. But true
That would be a great idea, but the problem is roblox still ain't gonna listen to the community.. 🙃
Such a good suggestion!
I would add that a Roblox employee afterwards goes into the game to check everything
I think they should make game devs put tags in their games according to the theme (ex violence etc) so that the parents can filter the games that are deemed inappropriate and then they can make their team check if the tags work or have a system to ensure its the right tag just an idea tho
8:45 bro i thought you were gonna say you could do that irl 💀
Growing up mostly playing roblox since i was about 5, Seeing parents go "oh this isn't child friendly" is so unbelievably hilarious.
Yyeeep
Imo they should add a feature to block games not based on age, but if the parent wants to.
If they notice their kid playing a game deemed inappropriate for the kid, they can go into a parent setting (With a pin attached for access) and disable that game specifically aswell.
they should just make it mandatory to add an email to your account instead of just giving you like access to commenting on items, and liking games, also giving you a free hat. that way they could make it so that the email gets daily reports of every game your child has joined, along with every single chat message they have sent. Also they should have a thing where when you make your account you choose types of games that you arent allowed to access, such as fps games, rp games, or others
Not a bad idea but parents phones would blow up from how much their kids are sending chat messages so that might not be the best...
I agree with the reply above, daily would be too much, i think it should be smth roblox stores for a period of time (like maybe max 3 months) and parents would be able to ask roblox for it
@@ofcharacters I agree with you i think what would be good tho is to wait maybe like 2 or 3 months and then get a notifaction of all the things your child chatted/said in those 3 months!
eh I don't think so
I have to say, role-playing games are normally inappropriate, yet some have models which make it hard to make the game inappropriate. But I have to say, it depends. Developers should be looking out for inappropriate actions. I will say I would want players visiting my game, but rating it all ages when there's inappropriate actions involved. I never really noticed this until I watched this video. Thank you for explaining it!
my quick and dirty solution to this mess would be to just recruite or hire admins/mods to moderate inappropriate player behavior in their game. in my opinion, this is much more fair than just changing the rating of their game because that would bottleneck the game's concurrent players *(unless their game is actually trying to support this behavior, which is a much different story)*
but even that has it's own problems because the mods/admins might not actually do their job
I think the when rating a game players rate it first then the dev of the game rates it and after roblox makes a desicion and also whenever your making a account you can set your spisific age and if your below to age of playing a game it disconnects you from it
they blame the wrong person those games not 18+ or anything like that its just the players who turns games into horrible things as a 5 year roblox player i can confirm that roblox has nothing to do with those stuffs it all comes from terrible persons who pretend to be a kid but turns out to be a grown man
Agree
Agree, it's mainly players and the 40 year old men but roblox takes the blame
Roblox doesn’t have 18+
Yes
If roblox sets a higher age limit, some role play games would definitely be going down. Roblox should probably make a tag for "Roleplay games" in the age restrictions, and let parents decide if they can turn if off or leave it on.
I like how kreek talks about this because he doesn't go to a side, he explains the roblox's point and also understands the Parent's point, I love how he explains these types of videos
5:34 that’s not true your bottom part doesn’t disappear (at least it the games I’ve played). Im pretty sure the character in the picture just has very small shorts on
Since the age recommendation policy comes through and Roblox forces developers to act upon it or else their games won't be recommended and push through the algorithm, there has been a Report Abuse feature for misleading/false age ratings on games that Roblox will manually review and check to see if it violates their Questionaire terms or not.
the thing that is wrong is that she lets her 5 year old kid play video games like roblox has got more things to do than moderate literally everything on the platform.
it's also the parents' job to protect their kids
did u not get the video? the game is for any age and everyone is welcome to play the game so if she wants to let her 5 year old play the game with MAXIMUM parental controls and stuff like this still happens its not her fault its actually roblox fault
I know a solution: Roblox has servers for 9 years Old when they join they will get in a server with kid with that age rating like when u can join a 13+ game you join it and your taken into an server with people who set there settings like that I think that is a good solution
like what though the servers crash alot, theres aton of bypassed music clothing and images and they a billion dollar company they can do stuff.
@@Versainity that would be hard to do and take a long time with probably alot of bugs
Imagine if u were are parent, do u think u would watch over ur kid 24/7?
"it's unacceptable the way Roblox is not parenting my kid for me" just sums up this whole situation in my mind
I used to play the bathroom game thingy a LOT like 5 months back then, but I wasn’t roleplaying or anything I was just making friends and talking with people there. But I can confirm that yes, I would just be standing talking to people and some random boys would go back and forth behind me referring to the you know what. I recommend they make it 13+ just for that reason since I also used to play this a little when I was 8 and people would still do that.
They should probably add a option to block all roleplay games in the settings like a extra age rating devs need to turn on if they have a roleplay game. (You need to activate it in the settings manually.
I love how Kreek just completely switched sides from the whole star program incident earlier 😂
I feel like roblox should add a feature where like in Vrchat (if you have played it) if you get close enough to someone they go invisible or you just see the outline of the player. Roblox should do that so people don’t do inappropriate stuff.
I fell so bad for those kids that got there accounts deleted by their parents
Honestly I think for the parental options, because this is the main problem with this that there isn’t an option to disable role play games, I think it could be good to make a separate rating which is roleplay, and make an option to disable roleplay rated games in the parental control settings

There is one kid friendly game on Roblox called Berry Avenue. But the kids are recommended to join on a private server.
I think why this is the biggest issue is because Roblox automatically sets your account to be 13+ so that’s why a lot of kids are seeing stuff that’s not really appropriate I think when you’re making account you should click off what age limit is appropriate for that account
9:26 let me be honest here kreek, most of the players are in build mode while there are updates of new stuff and most roleplays are a family without a dad- 😅
He went to get the milk and never came back, now we are a sad family 😔
Hey kreek, I can confirm that most of the information here is accurate, however I did want to let you know as a developer that the age ratings work a bit differently than you explained it. Now essentially, yes, developers do set their own age rating, but they don't just select All ages, 9+, or 13+, instead they have to go through a questionnaire that has specific questions about violence, in game purchases etc.
Once the survey is finished, based on your answers they give your game an age rating.
However, in essence the developer does select the age rating, because they can retake the survey at any time and potentially could lie about what is in their games.
What game did u do? (Just asking)
he literally said in the video about how developers can lie when setting their rating so he was obviously talking about the survey as well
@@apple5293 Well that's true, I was simply noting that it is a mix between the developer setting their age rating, as well as Roblox moderating it. This is because if you have lied, Roblox can come in and change the age rating for you. That's all I meant by this comment. (And the survey isn't an "as well", the survey is the only way that you can set an age rating)
@YeaMan lad

@@CodeBro29 first of all by saying "as well" i wasnt saying it in the way of saying it it was a 2nd option i was saying that when kreek was talking about devs setting the age rating that it was entailed and also as he said that roblox only does things if people report it so if its a huge problem then just get a lot of people to report it and then roblox will most likely do something

roblox should think of a personal bubble feature, the closer someone is to you the more they become transparent.
hmm good idea
Roblox actually kinda does set those ratings
As a roblox developer (kind of) you have a questionnaire and to get those ratings you have to take the questionnaire. It will ask questions like, is there blood in this game, is there trading in this game, etc.
After you take that questionnaire you have the rating
Yeah i spent 30 minutes typing this all out 😅
bro ofc if you have a game with blood and swearing and say its for all ages roblox will find out.
@@ThePharaoh.1053 no i don’t. Its a simple meme game
With the age rating setting for games, you actually take a 'Quiz' (Quiz wth am I on about? Survey) where the website asks you some questions and depending on what you put it auto-sets your age rating.
I’ve been in many vibe games..... every time there would be multiple ways to be inappropriate (one game allowed people to cuddle) and many people go their with the intention too be inappropriate, date and sexualise each other. Some things people have done and said is quite concerning.
I love how Kreek makes these videos apropriate for kids!
6:28 | *_lmfao_*
I am actually 50/50 about this. Yes, some games may be inappropriate for kids but it's usually the playerbase that's the problem. And also, the one about games being set as all ages even though it's not supposed to be is actually true. I just checked and saw Judy set to all ages [I'm 15 but that game gave me nightmares for a few days. Which is saying something since I'm usually calm when I'm in a dark mall] and Flicker is set to all ages, which I remember there are very... Graphic death scenes there
I agree with u
Yeah, I just don't want roblox to become a 5 year old game
Yea i agree, i'm a 13yr old roblox player that loves horror game so they don't really scare me anymore but i can see younger audience being affected.

I feel like role-play games like brookhaven should be set to 7 or 8+ cus of all the online daters, but I don't actually see many online daters like all there is in the chat is "ABC for mom" or "ABC to rp". U don't see many online daters in rp games except for a few servers. Bloxburg doesn't really have too much rp either like its just people building their homes and parents could easily turn on the parental controls and just moderate their children and what they do on Roblox. I think the scariest game ur child would play is "survival the Jeff the killer" i don't think a 5 year old would search up bathroom simulator.

ok hear me out, roblox creates a whole new age category called "roleplay games" so then its up to the parents if they want their children to be playing roleplay games or not

For roleplay games, it can get a little crazy sometimes so I think that it should be for 13+ just to be save. But in this case, Kreek got a valid point
See Roblox should make it where parents can go and pick what games to block like a custom option where you select certain games the work like instead of having 9+ you can have 9 + but taking away some games like selecting block role play,or shooters

Yeah. Almost impossible to come up with the solution because truly you can't stop the internet from being themselves.
Personally as someone who enjoys role play games, It’d depend on what T͟y͟p͟e͟ of Rp game it but I don’t see how people could “Role-play” by someone slipping in a game that’s literally called "Bathroom Simulator “ (which I don’t play “. But if the Rp game was like Royal high I think it’d be 9+ but I don’t play Royal high a lot but if you were putting a game like Maple Hospital (which they prob should put at 9+ ) or WCUE (Warrior Cats Ultimate Edition) which WCUE I think is good as all ages bc it’s a pretty neat Rp game . Just bc of a hangout bathroom game exists shouldn’t fully cover saying “all role play games should be 13 + “ because I believe it’d depend M͟A͟I͟N͟L͟Y͟ on what type it is and how it works .
this is why roblox is cursed sometimes but you have to deal with it
roblox should let parents block certain genres on the parental control settings
so that your kids arent actually seeing this innapropriate behavior very often
i feel like this idea is actually genius, though what if some games dont have genres? what if some games the child really likes is part of that genre? parents should be able to block the games they choose, so if i wanna block something like adopt me, i can just press those 3 dots and press block game. now this may seem annoying to manually block every single game the parent deems inappropriate so i think the blocking genres is a good idea, like have both of them in the platform. if roblox adds this it would be a step in the right direction.

i agree on both her part and not. though there are inappropriate things on rp games, that does not mean the whole of roblox does. sure, it can happen in any game. but parents try to help their children. if anything, its like real life. any real life person could do anything anytime to any person. in roblox, though, its not like there are cameras sensing what you do. (besides chat) so no, rp games should not be 13+, but there should be a certain option to block a game. like you block a player.
The process to choose a rating for a game from the developer portal is quite easy and isn't really secure. Just a very short 4 questions then it will choose rating.
I don't think roleplay games should be marked 13+ As you said younger audiences on those games. However if roblox showed that they read and do actions with their reports then I think that would encourage some people to hold back on what they do.
As of right now roblox doesn't really do much with the reports unless it's an extreme case.
@YeaMan get a life
I think the innocent roleplay games (like Brookhaven) should be left alone, but games with actual issues (like Meepcity) should either have the developer(s) be warned about it and be given some time to fix it, or put it to 13+ temporarily until the developers fix it, depending on how serious it is.

Personally i think that roblox should have the ability to cancel or make games (of an age older than how old the player is )dissapear what i mean by that is if for example a 7 year old is playing with someone older ( like a cousin or something) if the 7 year old searches for the game in the search bar it wont be there. Roblox can use this feature by getting info on the players in the sign up area when you first make your account it can use the age that you put in for the info of the feature. i understand that this can easily be evaded be fake ages but it is just an idea. yes, once I was in BrookHaven RP once and was told by another player quote on quote want to make a kid? and I left the server BUT HE FOLLOWED ME IN THE SERVER so I just took a break
She's not wrong about the bathroom simulators- I would see my family members that are around kindergarten age, playing those type of games where many complete incorporate scenes including drama, happen in the game. I got bullied once and it really effected me. The only reason why I was playing was just because I wanted to explore and play with friends in a kind and family friendly matter. The most popular rp bathroom game is really the 1st game you played.
I also very much agree with Kreek bc he has had more experience in the game it's self, and he actually has an valid point.
Only reason why it happens is really because the times are really changing, it all started on social media where all trends, rude, sexual and unmature adults were being completely rude, usually parents think that there child is safe and okay with the child safety on. But really there are many platforms that the child can have access to that can change a child's mind and making them lure into doing it.
If they are talking about the amount of toxicity in these games then I fully understand
logically speaking i think the best approach is to make some sort of manually done list and add it as the HIGHEST parental control setting for games, that way parents can use it if they're *really* concerned about the games
it depends which roleplay game, if its just like an average roleplay game and its not actually innapropriate then sure, i think it should be around all ages, maybe 9+. places like public bathroom simulator on the other hand should be 13+ since quite literally as you mentioned no one follows the rules.
I found the girl who was doing * inappropriate dances * to the mother on Roblox and they seem to be a flamingo fan, she has a deformed werewolf emo avatar and has gotten a badge in Ohio (the Roblox game) The other candidate is someone who was the same name, one of those bread avatars with a top hat that covers the head and tiny stick arms off of the French fry avatar. They are a small Roblox game developer. And then there’s just other noobs who have the same display name. I think we know who the culprit is here.
