- This week, the creator of The Mandalorian, the founding father of the MCU, the man/myth/legend himself, Jon Favreau joins us to discuss some recently-spotted blue macarons being snacked upon by The Child. I love how Jon is stressing to make sure that the kids who enjoy the show also can enjoy something more suited to them and be able to bake it. It’s really sweet and shows how he cares about not only about the adults but the children who admire his show as well. What a likable guy.
And he basically got the MCU rolling with Iron Man.. Legend.
Not just the men but the women and children too.
Yeah I'm glad he is replacing the terrible producer Kathleen Kennedy. Can't wait for 2021!

He’s just a misunderstood character. Din Djarin may be a bounty hunter, but he cares about children since he was once a foundling himself.
I feel like they’re making each other shine. It was all about Baby Yoda last year, but this year, Mando is really showing his character development.
It has come to the point that it upsets me that people call him "baby Yoda" (because he is not actually baby Yoda, obviously, he is Grogu, a completely different character than Yoda). It makes sense of course, because most people who know Grogu only know him through the baby Yoda memes, so if you were to say "Grogu", a lot of people wouldnt know who you were referring to.. But it still upsets me xD I agree with @fashionmwah : Grogu and Din make each other shine and I love how they "work" together in the show!

i have to say i legitimately appreciate that Jon took into consideration the cost of the cookies and the fact that normal working class people are going to be making these for their children.
I successfully made the macarons though it took me 3 hours because I don’t have a mixer so I had to hand beat the egg whites and yolks! A tip from me is to sift the flour and sugar not directly into the food processor because it can get everywhere, I sifted it into a bowl and then poured it into the processor after. They turned out amazing and I decided to make mine lemon flavored with a bit of lemon extract!

Favreau seems like a wholesome, down-to-earth kind of guy.
He and Filoni are singlehandedly shaping the future of star wars and the way that stories are being told in cinema and I'm all here for it
Filoni has been doing it since CW and Rebels but no one really paid attention. That is changing thanks to this collab on the show because so many people are now watching those shows who didn't want to watch a "cartoon."

Yes he was the voice and I never said they didnt know each other before but majority of SW and Mando fans didn't know about Filoni for a long time. The Gallery behind the scenes series helped with that but my main point, which I will state again, is that most fans didnt know about Filoni and his HUGE contribution to the show because they didnt watch CW and Rebels. More people are interested in those shows now and recognizing how amazing Filoni is and has been to the SW universe.

Love that you used the preppy kitchen recipe. It was the first recipe for something complex my husband and I ever attempted making and it was a fun/frustrating experience. Throughout covid we’ve passed the time by playing food scientist/recipe analyst and really enjoyed the results. Your Chef inspired beignet recipe has made us neighborhood favorites for providing treats.

Long time fan (the whole family loves all things Babish!), first time making a comment. Great episode and thanks so much for the tip about using cream of tartar! Our 14 year old daughter has made macarons several times with real success but she tried the CoT trick today and is blown away by how much it improves the mixture.

Being a baking student in culinary school makes this video amazing! Macaroons are incredibly hard to make mix a little too much and they puff like crazy mix a little too little and they are flat rocks. It’s amazing to see it get done right
Since Jon Favreau was in this video, it made me wonder if you ever tried cooking anything from his movie “Chef”. It’s totally straight up an amazing foodie movie. The cinematography even makes cooking a grilled cheese sandwich look 5 star delectable. And it has a ton of cool Hispanic dishes as well. Jon both directed and acted in the film so please check it out and if you can I’d love to see you make a dish from it!
