You really should check out all of his other videos. He's got tons of really useful stuff, and helps you get past a lot of common stumbling blocks in Reaper.
For what its worth as an old codger I am diving into Reaper as my primary DAW . with some outboard kit it is making sense. I have an old edirol firewire card , an old triton its all working quite well, according to your detailed tutorials . Tnx for that, I am amazed
Thanks so much Kenny! I am new to reaper although I have had the DAW for about a year. I have switched over from Studio One which I was using for years but since watching your videos and fantastic teaching method too with easy to understand explanations I have made the switch and am really loving Reaper! So much flexibility and power! Cheers. :-)
Hey, Kenny. Tanx for another great video. So inspiring. But, why don't you go deeper into the "Loop" function? Loop start/loop end, and for example make a track just for those two functions? You really can go crazy there, making cool synth sounds from just a snare or a kick drum? Or a cough..?..Adjust the loop tempo in a track- "Show track envelope", and take it from there ... Endless possibilities :-) -and,- off course, you can adjust the start point in the loop, in another track...
I am just amazed of all the feature you show us Kenny! I am working on a project which I have been thinking of just - a record be started ... Did you read my mind?, scary - thanks a bunch :-)
Wait how did you get the keyboard to show at the bottom of the screen and what about chopping straight up vinyl samples in reaper you never covered that as well?
Nice, but in certain way there is something wrong on it. Are you speaking to musicians or to programmers playing aorund with sounds? I kann easy follow yout instructions... but in some kind I feel loosing my time . tons of checkpoints and lists to do something you've surely forgotten in five minutes after done it. Reaper need a big, big, redisign to be as easy to use as actual programs
Reaper might not have the sleakest UI, but it's super flexible and customizable. The UI is very functional because it's uniform, and most of the features are in very logical places. Lot's of people are using Reaper professionally already, and I've seen it gain a lot of popularity in the kind of communities I'm a part of (game development mostly).
no one doubts the ability of this program. My point is that extensive lists, boxes, menus, fonts, dialog boxes, etc. could (need?) receive an update. for example, this video shows a voice sample and you want to use it with your keyboard. in any actaul program you can do it intuitively and in an environment pleasant to the eye, here, without the indications (very well explained) I personally would be lost. I think it would not be so difficult to optimize the user interface, reduce, for example, the functions accessible to the type of project. A video editor does not need to "see" the same lists as a producer of a hip hop project. etc.
@@fernandoscolletion If you mean different GUI layouts for different purposes, while it's not available right "out of the box", it can easily be done on your own as the GUI is highly customizable. This includes the menus, all the graphic elements, colors, custom actions/buttons, etc. I understand that many people require various settings already set up for them and they don't feel the need to go under the hood of a program. However, the Reaper devs chose not to limit choices to a few preset layouts but to allow users to tinker with the DAW to one's heart's content.
My head just exploded from all the useful information I learned from this - so many possibilities. Thanks Kenny!

I hope you managed to sample your head exploding, so you can recreate the moment! 😊
@@DavidCobb2011 I'm using the explosion as an IR in ReaVerb ;-)
This vocal sample reminded me of something else. 😂😂😂😂
Lol you're silly 😂
@@lavender_ffrequencies4820 little bit wiser after 3 years.
That's why I subscribed and that is why I hit that god damn bell
When I listen to today's pop music, I'm convinced that vocal samples are the new background instruments.

Reaper is simple it's a program for real producers that love to experiment if it's too much maybe reaper ain't for you .
