- We learned about printing white plastisol ink on a black shirt, but what about black plastisol ink on a white shirt? In our latest video, expert Colin Huggins explores the nuances of printing black plastisol ink on light-colored garments. How to screen print black plastisol ink is something that changes with your ink, garment, temperature, and what look you're going for. Colin uses FN-INK and shows how it performs on different blend shirts, and what a smoothing screen can do for pesky fibers.

Great video
Where did you get the art work Bishop in the light bulb I like that where can I get the svg file
It was out of a vector pack we used for the Long Beach Trade Show in 2020. Unfortunately I do not remember the website!
Would you get the same effect as the smoothing screen by using a heat press for a few seconds with very light pressure? Thanks
In essence yes. There are lots of printers who don't have a heat press - or don't have the extra time to go heat press. This is a simple way to make an improvement if needed. You can also do this with any ink - not just black - you can do this after multiple colors as well.
Thank you soo much for the awesome videos that you make! Can you tell me which method or what makes the ink more durable? I tried to print some of the same black ink thru a 230 mesh and after curing it flakes like little crumbs. Please help and some tips?
It sounds to me like the ink did not reach cure all the way through the ink layer.
How did you cure the ink?
@@Ryonet With a small D1000 conveyor dryer.
@@emuvideos-farmlife Sounds like you may not have reached a full cure of the ink. Have you done a multi cycle wash/dry test yet?
@@Ryonet No, it was crumbly and flaking right out of the conveyor.
@@emuvideos-farmlife I would make sure the garment is in the dryer long enough for the ink to reach full cure. You may have either been too low on temp - or the belt was running too fast. Or maybe a bit of both.
