It's great to meet nice people who will invite you in for a chat. This gentleman is prosperous, generous, content, and your visit made a nice video. It's amazing how fast the conversation went from firewood to toys. To me the highlight was the jeep restoration.
Is guys like the three of you that really have me appreciate my home state. This video could not have been any more Wisconsin if Charlie Berens was along with you guys!
It's funny, I've had the nagging feeling that Chris's woodyard was missing something, and now I think I know what it is...a batshit, lightning fast, mad-as dog like that beagle! 🐶👍🪓🇦🇺🤣
Good morning Chris and Kenny!! The old boy has quite the operation going on there. Sounds like he is on a pretty busy road. He's quite the Jack of all trades. Take care my friends!!😀😀👍👍 Logger Al
I love to see unassuming guys like this who are smart, can build anything, and live beneath their means. I'd bet he's made and saved enough money to never work again and leave his family a sizeable inheritance. He'll probably never retire because the challenge of the work is what he lives for.
Nice to see a fellow old fart still getting with it. Bought a 1 year old County Line 40 ton splitter for $1400.00 yesterday. It wouldn't crank so the guy just wanted it gone. The fuel line was clogged. Runs like a dream. Will handle a 4 way. 8 second cycle! Look out crotches! Should spend up production by quite a bit, while I wait a year for the Axis!!! That reminds me... Got 2 loads of logs in yesterday. I better get with it! Great video and interview.
I started in masonry and switched to carpentry and also ran Beagles for 2 decades...I could swap war stories with Ross all day long! Thanks for letting us see your nice operation and toys! P.S. If you trade the Dyna for an Eastonmade processor. You will have alot more time for playing with your toys!🤠
Awesome video. Ya a lot of mutual respect and admiration for three guys that live life to the full and work hard every day for decades. Thought the conversation and surveying his lot and equipment couldn’t get any better then came the fire truck to water the Christmas trees and Jeep restoration with desire to get and mount a working .30 cal machine gun so I can actually shoot something 😂
When I first saw that fender at 3:45 I thought it was rusted out. Looking closer it seems to just be bar oil spray covered with sawdust and wood chips. More of the same in that area. I suppose a good coating of bar oil and wood chips could be a good rust preventative. GNI
That was great, quite a character, would be nice to revisit when he has the Machine gun mounted on the Jeep, maybe go do a little target practice. Like most of us Chris, amazed you stack 200 cords! Thanks for the video
I grew up around uncle with old Jeep , his snow cat I run 2 J-5 look like same machine for moose hunting. Own thing my j-5 got roll bar roof over me . Been in hunting & fishing all my life never had to carry a moose yet with them J-5 . I’ll be over a lot mtns in Newfoundland with j-5 pick up grey legs . Great video bring back a lot remember for sure . Own thing we got on property in Newfoundland is a 42 chevy truck that work probably 3 ton . Funny he didn’t have some off old big chainsaw kick around Chris .
Love them sort of guys, Chris - dead interesting. Understated, but quietly big enough thank you very much.. I modded my home built electric wrapper a lot over the last few days to speed up loading, unloading & wrapping - it is now able to hit 65 - 68 bundles per hour with one guy consistently - just as I figured out a better better way of selling wood - which involves not selling it as wood. I.E no more bundles, lol, just as the bundler starts flying.. :-)
Holy Frijoles I thought you were the king of "irons in the fire" Evidently Christmas trees have been very very good too him. I wonder if his kids will be taking over the business eventually He must have 8 cords of wet wood sitting in the mud. Fun video I wonder if he had four people working for him in the woodyard? I hope you don't ever give up making videos to make money :)
i used to pile all my wood and giggle at people that stacked kinda the same as this gentleman....for little under 10 years.....last year it rained all summer and my giant piles...20 cord each...got mold all through...terrible ....terrible to sell a sub par product and now i stack on pallets copying you and ohio joe....yes I'm gonna charge more money.... but more about never wanting that experience again...you work hard then your crop goes bad is not good
Great vid of salt of the earth. 10:33 - 10:36 is how you can tell the vid is in Wiscahnsin. 'Ja. Ja. Ja. Ja.' Love this place. Sad to see so many ash half-denuded or standing dead in the Fox Valley. A tree service would be busy as the dickens the next couple years.
Chris EASTONMADE is shut down for 2 wks from July 22 to August 07 , reopened on August 08. Don’t break anything on 22 MD be hard to get parts from EASTONMADE.
There’s a lot to be said about using loaders to handle wood, and that grated bucket he had is not negotiable for an operation that doesn’t stack all of its wood. Clean wood is important because everyone wants it. Even the folks that tend wood furnaces will use small splits, not everyone wants cookies, even at a great price.
What an interesting man. Bought a fire truck of all things and waters Christmas trees. Amazing.
He is a cool dude!
That fella has stayed busy for a very long while to gather up that much stuff!!
Goodstuff
Yup, he is a normal hard working fella!
American Pickers would love to your his facility. He has a special talent to see something as a concept, and then make it come to life.
Yup, Ross is a good guy!

Yup, Ross is a great guy!
I'd like to see a video of your brother running his beaver trap line Chris. Maybe one day you could give him a hand and video it?

Interesting listening to you talk about Pierce. My department has bought 2 in the last 13 years.
Yup, right down the road from me about 3/4 of a mile.
That’s super cool, I’m sure that is big employer in the Appleton community
G’morning Chris. Wow. Awesome set-up. Love the slotted bucket. Awesome to see.
GoodNightIrene
Yup, that bucket is great for firewood scooping!
Great video of another woodyard!! Everyone in firewood seems to share their experiences!! Have a Safe Day
Yes, ross is a great guy, we will stop in again some day!
I could call this guy a friend.
Yes, we all could!

Yup, that I am! Thanks! Will do!
Nice to see his yard and all his stuff!👍👍
It is always nice to see another persons operation!
Unfortunately there just aren't enough guys like him left.
Yup, he is a good one!
Ross has the land and the tools great videos Chris, and good morning to everyone
Thanks for watching!
Really interesting. Love the dog running around.
Thank you very much! Yup, he was a ball of energy!
Nice video Chris. Ross has quite an operation and more occupations than toys to do them with. Kind of a Oak snob when it comes to firewood. GNI
He has a good set up, oak and maple by far sell the best in northern Wisconsin. Lots of people heat with wood and that is what they want!
This was my fave video you've ever posted. Hopefully you will make a 2023 follow-up.
Yes, we need to stop in again!
Thats cool Chris. Once the gentleman warmed up to you both he started talking..
Yup, Ross is a great guy!

Yes, bar oil is good for all machinery for a rust stopper!
Chris Kenny Great video Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks for watching again Frank!
Man some good people
When is he starting his CZcams channel
Just saying
Yup, Ross is a great guy, I doubt that he will start a channel, he said he does not watch youtube of have a computer, smart man!

Ja, you are correct Ja!
I'm sure there was a bigger point to this video but started crying so bad at the sight of a snow pile... I miss snow
Yup me too, it will be back soon!
I'm going to see if I can find that Christmas tree 🎄 trimming video so I can see the electric tree trimmer.
Found it:
czcams.com/video/_nF5lXFTk48/video.html
It was in the middle of last summer we shot it!
Fascinating, thanks. However Chris, I much prefer your beautifully stacked piles on pallets. They'll season far better than those tipped cones.
Fair enough!

Thanks Tony!
Hey Chris, Has summer not arrived up north ? Or is this video from earlier in the year ? Cool video 👍
In the description....I wrote, this video was shot this past spring and I forgot to get it edited until just recently. Thanks for watching!
From the Sweltering heat to some Snow. Hmmm..
Thanks Chris...
I shot this last April, I forgot to edit it until just recently!
Efficient wood burning for heating is still a lot more efficient and cheaper than basically any other source with least impact on the environment.
Yup and the most renewable too!
If i spent 50k on one, I would have it undered a covered roof to protect my investment. Hell even a simple pole building with open sides
I have NEVER seen any wood processor covered,...yet, they move a lot to process firewood.

Man I wish I didn't live in Portland Oregon....
Move!!!
Hate to say,but 50 caliber is more like 10 bucks a round, and specialty rounds in the hundreds and more
Wow, ouch!
$80 for a facecord of red oak.... that's got to be worth $250 in UK cities
I get $120
When was this shot?
Back in April of this spring, I forgot to edit it in with all the beaver trapping vidoes!
So, step 1: win the lottery
No, I have never bought a ticket, step one is work hard and smart for 40 years and it is the same as winning the lottery but better, you did it!
@@InTheWoodyard I hear you but I’ve been working hard for 30 years and couldn’t even afford that land, let alone all of the toys on it.
