  • Another full transformation from factory stock to fully customized. This '70 Wurlitzer 200 has been completely rebuilt inside out has our Warneck research EP200 amplifier and Varivib variable speed vibrato installed too.
New key caps, key bushings, full action regulation, tuning and voicing. Tweaked to perfection! Off to its new home in CA!
Recorded with our trusty zoom Q3HD recorder direct mic'd onto a '90 Fender vibrolux 2x10" combo- , no compression or eq added, raw recording.
    Video captured with an iPhone.
Big thanks to Mike Frank for these amazing from the hip compositions-

The two individuals who did setup work here aged in dog years bringing these Wurlitzers to this level of refinement! 😜

"Dear Prudence" 🎼🎵🎹. The Wurlitzer is a majestic instrument. No wonder Supertramp took it as their main instrument.

the 200 just has such an organic and crisp sound. i prefer it over the 200a and im thrilled to own one

The earlier 200s have slightly thinner reeds which gives just a bit more of a driven springy aliveness to the voice.. 200A reeds were made ever so slightly thicker to combat breakage, as a result 200a's don't have that spank! 200 reedbars with a 200A amp sounds really good, we've done a few like that - kinda the best of both worlds!

Wonderful medley. What is the piece that starts at 1:52?

It's an iteration of Tom Petty's Breakdown, Mike Frank (the guy playing) has a great knack to do what we lovingly call "non-legally binding covers" :)

Too bad there is no time machine that would let you go back and show the Wurly folks what the future has in store for their machines. I think they'd approve.
