  • On the 6th of March 1957, Ghana gained freedom from her colonial masters. Ghana became independent. On that day, several activities took place to mark the Independence Day of Ghana. Since then, 6th of March has been recognized as Independence Day in Ghana and thereby a public holiday.

      I was about to make the comment, for the very first time Ghana's showing off mlrs! They need more advanced equipment: drone units, main battle tanks, surveillance systems, warships, submarines, jet fighters, artillery systems. As the economy grows in years to come I hope we're able to obtain some of the best equipment for the Ghana armed forces. So far, good job!

    mr.kamma can you tell us what job they have done ghanian military to help some africa's wars?
    if you know some african nations are helping there brothers
    such as uganda,brundi,rwanda,kenya.
    can tell the world what ghana gove.done good job in african continent?
    i don't thing you have the true answer and ghana's not true africa but they are unpopular black people

      Mr. Ibrahim, Ghana soldiers have volunteered or made themselves available for many peace keeping missions in Africa. eg.
      1. The Liberian war
      2. The Rwandan war
      Etc...

      Well, what exactly do you mean? The Ghana armed forces has no responsibility to any other African country. It's primary duty is the defence of the territorial integrity of our republic. It costs a lot of money to maintain a standing army. So we need to make judicious use of the resources, including the human one, of the Ghana armed forces. The constitution of Ghana sets out clearly the role of the armed forces.
