How can people at mercedes look at this masterpiece and the new c63 and say "hm yeah we made progress"
Blame noise and polution regulations
Because of inflation these cars are expensive to make. 2.0l 4cl are priced upwards of 100k. Imagine what the V8s cost. Combined with laws and regulations which put your entire fleet under a single emissions index, whatever the mass buys can't be a V6, v8 or anything else really anymore. So now it's 4cl turbocharged. These cars make 400+ hp, like on my GLA AMG 45s. So they're not weak by any means, there is just no emotion anymore. It's all fake.
The v8s still exist but they're in much more exclusive cars now. The AMG GT 63s for example.
Making a 2.0 car make 420hp is more difficult and expensive than putting a big engine making an ok amount of power
Sure it's an engineering achievement but an amg is not for lap times but raw power. It's all about emission regulations as you said

6.2L V8 N/A is one of my favorite engines but cant beat V12 N/A.

Not their fault, but yeah. It sucks they are 4cyl now. Blame the EU and their crazy targets. Before anyone says "BMW did a 6cyl". Mercedes has a larger range of emissions credits to deal with and they need those credits for models like the AMG GT. Models that BMW don't have equivalents for so don't need to save up credits for

That 6.3l sounds incredible and was the last proper motor that company has constructed, powering everything from this to G-Klasse AMGs.
The headers make it sound so much like my Camaro with Hooker headers does when stepping off throttle at high rpms👌

What year is this model? I just bought a 2012 AMG E63 Biturbo. I would have preferred the N.A. 6.3 but I read so many issues that the 6.3 could potentially have.

This is definitely a different car than my cl63. The tuning Is so different. My transmission is slow to shift. And shifts way lower in the rpm.
Traction control button turns off . And that is me 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 bless the rear wheels with some scriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii pow pow pow
