I just ordered this motor and a Dlux Silent ESC. I tried a HW1080 and while it did improve modulation on the stock 380, it didn't help anywhere else. Add to the fact that I run 1.9s (w/4.19 Landmines) and it struggled at certain spots to maintain speed/control.
I enjoy the content,..takes me back to when I had a RC called the frog,thinking about getting back in to it,thanks once again.
Dlux fab has some nice looking shocks for the utb18

Put that motor in mine a week ago, but haven't driven it yet. Pitbull rock beast tires and weighted the front wheel barrels. stayed glued to the rocks. happy to see the motor running in yours.
What tire and wheel size did u go with. Ran 1.9 was way to big. Bought 1.55 Rick beast for it but yet to get wheels. Was going to try the 1.5 pit bull wheel but not sure yet.

I had a home made brushless system the first day I had it. BLHeli32 esc and a 2217 2300kv motor. I have since changed the motor to a 2216 1250kv. I think 14t pinion. It will take 2s up to 4s, but 3s is the sweet spot. I'm hoping someone makes a sensored system for it soon. I also drew up and printed wider hexes out of nylon to widen the axles to help with rollover.

I love the Capra. Can’t understand the hate over a controversial scale size. And the price is not bad considering the available $150 RC’s capabilities.

I really like this motor, I may have to get it eventually. Still trying to figure out if I want to go 1.9 wheels or not.
I did remove the shock springs and that did help a lot with ride height. Still playing around with shock oil. May try pen spring mod but cut it in half since this is smaller.

I wonder if you got one with a bad motor. My stock one crawls very nearly as well as yours does in terms of motor control. I have NO issues with the motor. BTW Furitek has a motor/esc combo setup coming soon for $109 (versus $159 for the Holmes setup). Hey, where did you put the receiver? Is it in the cage, or in the fuel cell? I assume it's the FS- BS6. :)
I tried the fuel cell and it fit but no room for the plugs without a new taller top. I put it where the stock esc/receiver was.
Can confirm that running no springs in front works very well 👍 going to add a DSM to the center of the axle next to keep it tucked up

I've been thinking about it, because even in stock form on 2s it's Loads of fun to bash up hills with, just needs a wheel speed boost. It's on the list of things to build as soon as spare change allows.
@@adventure2073 need to put on some narrow 1/10 axles. The ones in these are just too small and weak for bouncing
