I would highly recommend both Rebel Yell and Empire of the Summer Moon. Great books.

I think Shelby Foote was one of those who said the nickname "Stonewall" was originally a derisive term. And he famously idolized Jackson.

Stonewall Jackson and his superior Robert E Lee were the greatest military commanders America, and the United States' army, in which they both trained, have ever produced. I think we should honour them, even if we disagree with them.

Meant to say very interesting information. Didn’t know Jackson was a religious man or a health nut or even so devoted to his wives. Very private man obviously. Very intelligent

This man should direct a movie about Stonewall Jackson!

He sounds like a hypochondriac. I picture Rainman in a rebel uniform. How this guy could get out of bed and tie his shoes is amazing.

Maybe you should read the book before spewing such stupidities.

Any recordings of 10 thousand Union muskets going off in the faces of rebel troops at Gettysburg during "Lees Charge"? Oops, We mean Picketts Charge.
And what about recordings of the rebel yell as the rebs were shot in the butt while retreating from Union soldiers at Cemetery Ridge after "Lees Charge"?

Will, are you aware that the Civil War has been over for 156 years? Maybe you should get out more!

The rebel yell was heard as rebs were retreating at Gettysburg while being shot in the butt by Union troops.

The summer of 1862 foreshadowed the Southern political , social and economic elites behaviour in Richmond when threatened by Union troops. The elites had a train waiting loaded with gold, supplies, "bug out bags" and themselves. They had already sent their wives, lovers, and children out of harms way.
Fast forward to April, 1865 and this time the elites left Richmond with the gold, money, valuables, and food. The food was meant for starving reb soldiers but the elites were hoarding the food for themselves.

Wonder why those Union troops did not follow Lee’s Army after Gettysburg? It was because they took a ass kicking too

I hear the "rebel yell" every time I am in the airport and a jet comes in from the Middle East and a family is reunited. You really need to do more research on gutter yells.

We demand the immediate release of the names and unit assignments of the Confederate soldiers who shot Stonewall Jackson at Chancellorsville.
We would like to recommend them for The Congressional Medal of Honor and The Presidential Freedom Award.
We would also like to thank them for their service.

So much hatred over events that happened more than a century and a half ago. Seems like a sign of mental illness. You should seek psychiatric help.
