IMO I bet there's a wee little bit of Armand that's either jealous or admires louis for being lestat's main bae, so he's like DANG, if lestat loves HIM, he MUST be bomb.

The little bit of information they left out in this episode when Lestat comes down to the coven lair with a cross is that the vampires themselves also believed in the superstitions regarding religious symbols repelling vampires.
They literally had their jaws on the floor when Lestat walked into churches without burning and it's also referenced in the IWTV movie when Louis explains to Daniel that he actually enjoys looking at crosses or something like that.
But Armand knew all along that these weren't real, but I'm still confused as to whether or not he upheld them soley for the sake of keeping the coven in check or if he was trying to punish himself too for being a vampire. In the books Armand was raised extremely religious so being an acceptor of the Dark Gift would go against everything he believes in

I'm wondering, have you seen The Newsreader? Sam is soooo good in that. Completely different from Lestat. I thought he was an amazing actor after watching S1 of Interview but then I saw him in The Newsreader and went, "Oh, he's an ACTOR actor!" So good.
I literally went down a Sam Reid rabbit hole and my goodness that guy has range!! The Newsreader was so good and I keep hoping they'll make a Season 3 because it can't be over between Tim and Dale!😢 (though Dale and Helen is so compelling)
If you haven't already, you should check out Lambs of God. It's a 4 episode mini series but it packs an incredible punch. Sam Reid and the 3 main actresses play off one another so well.
@cyanrose499 Season 3 of The Newsreader already finished shooting! Sam literally went straight into filming it after S2 of IWTV wrapped. Idk when it'll air, though. S2 took forEVER to come out after they finished filming it. S3 will be the final season, though. 😔

To be fair, there are a lot of upsetting moments in Lambs of God so I would advise against it if it may upset you. The main themes have to do with S.A against women and the societal repercussions in a patriarchal religious environment.
What I appreciated was how Sam's character is one of the male characters who's forced to confront his prejudices about women but trust me, it can be tough to watch when he's being particularly nasty. But overall, it has a similar poetic tone like IWTV and I wish it was just a little bit longer to fully flush things out.
I haven't seen it yet, but I think @cyanrose499 told me about it so I wanted to check it out

Whose daughter? You must mean OUR daughter, lol. And I know, but i just feel that when you go off to join a group and leave someone behind, you can't just get mad when they do the same. But I understand why she did it. It's just a shame she put her trust in the wrong coven.
Claudia's face at the end is so hearbreaking...
This may be a minor detail but I don't think Claudia and Louis forgot to close their door when Armand walked in. No way. It just makes his persona that much more lurky and shows how he can remain in the shadows without anyone noticing him (kinda like an experienced hunter).
Louis' inabilty to keep it together under pressure makes me so mad because it always causes more chaos and then other characters have to bear the responsibility for his mistakes.
Don't get me wrong, I really love the grey portrait we're getting for each character and Louis being an objectively flawed but sympathetic persom makes him more endearing for me, which is why I can see Lestat and Armand falling for him because he's so good at pulling you in (maybe unintentionally).

I think it just frustrates me because he gave Claudia that grand speech about moving on when he clearly hasn't. And if it was just his life on the line, I wouldn't be so frustrated, but it's Claudia's, too. I could see if Armand could just read minds, but I don't think he read Claudia's, which means you can block him. But poor Louis just isn't good at the mind games. I can see that as refreshing to beings who play mind games most of the time. But to a viewer, I'm just like, "Come on, Lou, do better" lol

Consider this: in the book, Claudia was like 5 or 6. Obviously for casting purposes this wouldn't work but it always stuck out to me like damn that had to be terrible to know that you'll never really know what it is to be a woman. Cramps n all. J/K but FR

raglan james is BAD NEWS BEARS. the main villain of Tale of the Body Thief--the weirdest wtf book in the series, IMO.
magnus wasn't part of any coven in the books; he was always rogue--AMC's doing their own thing there.
I prefer Tale of the Body Thief to Memnoch the Devil, actually.
I think Tom Cruise did a great job as Lestat. But yeah Sam Reid IS Lestat! He's so mesmerizing and magnetic. He steals the scene everytime he's on camera. It takes a special actor to convincingly play a dynamic role like Lestat.
I read the books and even I'm wondering wtf is up with this Louis. He's definitely not well somethings going on. Maybe Lestat is somehow sending his energy to Louis and louis is just feeding off of it.
My money is on Armand messing with his head. As far as Lestat, I'm honestly wondering if he's still lying dormant or if he is awake. Because everyone is acting like he's dead.

Maybe Lestat got depressed and is sleeping. Anne Rice vampires sleep sometimes when immortality becomes too much for them and they pretty much take a break & can sleep for years.

@shalayahomebodytv hey girl hope your day is going well. Ragland James was a member of the Talamasca and was kicked out pretty early. He used that knowledge to look for vampires. Lestat was feeling like he wanted to die. Ragland was able to switch bodies with his psychic powers. Then Lestat had to try to get his body back. He went to Louid and asked him to turn the new body into a vampire and Louis declined. It was a meh book but interesting. Louis eventually goes to burn himself in the sun and ends up becoming just as strong as Lestat. I want to see this on the show if they get that many seasons

It comes about because Lestat gets lonely because all the other vampires go their separate ways once she is dead. He tries to kill himself he's so lonely amd doesn't like his evil nature anymore.

Armand is just a different flavor of coffee please don't diminish him to uplifting Lestat
If that's what you consider it. I didn't think of it that way. That's just my opinion of Armand he's not as captivating to me as Lestat. Lestat commands a room. When he speaks, you can't look away, and Armand (to me) doesn't have those qualities. But that's my opinion, if you feel the different I respect yours
