      Luna used the data that can be found in the SAS Enterprise Guide 1: Querying and Reporting (8.2) course. You can access the e-Learning version of this course in the free 7-day trial of SAS Learning Subscription. Click 2.sas.com/60583Devg for more information and to start your free trial. The SAS Enterprise Guide 1 course is in the Programming module, then scroll down to the SAS Enterprise Guide header. Angels, after further review, we would recommend your inquiry to our technical support resources. Hi:
      We cannot provide detailed Tech Support here in the CZcams feedback area. To send mail, you need to work with your Administrator to determine that the right startup options for emailing are sent. It also makes a difference what your email restrictions regarding the email format you are allowed to send. For example with HTML or Plain Text format for emails, you would usually have to attach the image as a separate file attachment. Some mail administrators restrict program-generated emails to Plain Text format, so all of your additional snapshots, images or reports would need to be sent as an attachment to the email. The SAS email engine allows an ATTACH= option so you can easily attach files to a mail.
      To get more in-depth help, you can open a track with SAS Tech Support by filling out the form at this link: 2.sas.com/6055349z1 . Or you can post questions about email in the SAS Community Forums. Many times you'll find useful suggestions like this one: 2.sas.com/6050349zK about emailing in the Community Forums.

      Your question falls outside the scope of the topics covered in this video. This video is intended to be an overview of using SAS Enterprise Guide and point and click techniques. However, there are some resources related to your question on the 2.sas.com/6058G29Zm site that you might find useful. When you mention a copybook, you might mean a COBOL copybook. Do you have SAS Data Integration Studio where you work? If so, this documentation link will help you with your goal: 2.sas.com/6059G29ZW .
      If you do not have SAS Data Integration Studio, then you will probably need to write your own DATA step program using INFILE and INPUT statements to read the mainframe file. Does your Enterprise Guide installation connect to your mainframe? In addition to using Enterprise Guide for point and click tasks, you can write your own programs using the editor in Enterprise Guide. Or are you using some other interface to run your SAS programs against mainframe files? The interface you're using will have an impact on how you access the file.
      Depending on whether you have the mainframe file in EBCDIC or ASCII format and where it's located, you may be able to read it on the mainframe using SAS or you may have to FTP it to a server where SAS can read it. And, you'll have to pay attention to the informats you use, especially if the mainframe file has signed, packed data. Here are some links that you might find useful:
      2.sas.com/6050G29Zo
      2.sas.com/6051G29ZU
      2.sas.com/6052G29Zq
      2.sas.com/6053G29ZS
      2.sas.com/6054G29Zs
      This is the type of question that is best handled by working with SAS Tech Support. You can open a track with Tech Support by filling out this form: 2.sas.com/6055G29Zt.

    • @SASUsers
      @SASUsers  Před 2 lety

      EM, SAS Enterprise Guide is typically used in a corporate setting under a corporate license. Most of our corporate customers either provide a Windows machine with Enterprise Guide for their employees, or they have the employees use remote desktop from their Mac to connect to a Windows machine that has Enterprise Guide. If you partition your Mac so that you have Bootcamp or Parallels or some other type of partitioning software, you can put Windows into that partition and then install Enterprise Guide in the Windows partition. However, you'd want to check with your company first because it might be more cost effective for them to provide you with a Windows machine and Enterprise Guide than to pay for a Windows license and partition your Mac in order to install Enterprise Guide in the partition. If you are working in a corporate setting, you might ask your SAS Administrator how other users with Macs use Enterprise Guide. On the other hand, if you are a student or working independently, then instead of Enterprise Guide, we would recommend that you use SAS Studio to learn SAS. Independent users cannot get a stand-alone Enterprise Guide license, since it is part of a corporate license. On the other hand, we provide free access to SAS Studio on our SAS OnDemand server for non-commercial learning purposes. Here's a video about Getting Started with SAS OnDemand for Academics and SAS Studio: 2.sas.com/6059KbnsH . Our JMP subsidiary has a statistical analysis product that works natively on a Macintosh, which you can read about here: 2.sas.com/6050Kbnsy .
