Minimum width 60 mm ??????????

There are conflicting reports from different sales sites. Some say 600mm is minimum and some say 800mm minimum. I am not sure who to believe! Any thoughts on this would be appreciated from anyone out there who have tried it on a 600mm without any problems. Don't want it crashing from my 600mm worktop
