Just wanted to once again thank NASCAR. There are not many organizations that will willingly post their previous events completely on CZcams or any other video website for their fans to see. I don't think very many people appreciate what you do to be able to do this and so I'd just like to extend my thanks. NASCAR is the best.
***** There both good in their own ways. NBC's commentator's have the technical side of things down and they answer a lot of questions that many newer fans or people not in the know about these cars, things they want to know about. Fox on the other hand has the charisma that many people enjoy. Completely different sides of the coin, but both good in their own respects. Believe me, as much as DW and those guys love commentating races, I'm sure when summer rolls around, they love the time they get to stay in one spot with their families, instead of being in a different state week to week to week.
I got to give credit to NASCAR, they took some seriously balls, drying the track even though it was late at 11 P.M and the race ended around 3 A.M. Monday Morning
@@colorado8avalanche I was 15 at the time. When I saw Austin Dillon get out of the car and wave that was awesome. That moment and in 2020 were two moments I thought I saw someone die.
Yes it took guts for sure. Nascar wouldn't do this now because the ownership is so soft. But imagine if Austin got hurt or worse. The media the next day would have blamed Nascar for starting it late at night and condemning them.

A bunch of years ago, he and Jack Roush showed up to my local dirt track on a night I happened to be there, and in the pits since I helped on a buddy's car. I actually spent about 20 minutes, 1 on 1 with carl in the pits watching a heat race. He had ZERO problems talking racing with me, never felt awkward or anything. The guy is a great all around person.
Right? Though you have to wonder in your mind if Earnhardt Jr. didn't think about what happened to his father in that crash at the end with #3, must've reminded him of that in some way.
Thank you nascar. Been wanting to see the full race. Can't think of many other sports organizations that are willing to air their previous events for free basically, by posting to sites such as youtube. Ncaa, nfl, mlb, pga, mls, nhl, I can't recall them doing it. Some people do post events on their own, but they get deleted due to copyright issues. At least by doing this, those of us who didn't get to see the race can watch it. And we can watch it again and again. This was an exciting rsce, and well worth the delay to get it in. So glad Austin Dillon came out ok, and no fans suffered serious injuries. It is clear nascar really does care about their fans, both safety wise and trying to provide the best bang for the buck. Good job nascar.
Really wish Daytona would return to July 4th weekend (although I did enjoy it as the last race before the Chase in 2020). This is one of my favorite races I have ever watched, IMO an all time classic.
I just wanted to take the time to say "thank you" to NASCAR for posting full races to CZcams, AND making them region-free as I'm from the Netherlands. You've got yourself a new fan here.
I was at this race. It took FOREVER to get the track dried, but overall the race was pretty good. The Dillon wreck scared the crap out of me, not to mention the fact that he was my favorite driver at that point.
My wife and i had our fist vacation in 27 years so what do you that you both like ? we both like nascar and lived in florida since the 70's now living in Pa. on a farm. i've been to Daytona speedway over 20 times and she only seen it on tv . so off to Florida for 1 weeks to stay in a nice beach front , ocean view room . got to the track around 5:00 pm . stood out side the track and looked up and said holy crap ada seats fourth deck waaay up there ! now me and hights do not get along at ALL ! so we got on the ADA elevator and went up . the doors opened you could dam near see the beach from up there. lightning, rain ,steel beams, open walls small open cat walk to the seats! F this shit back down to the ground ! all and when we were up there a man came from behind to pat my back and say love the shirt ( confederate flag) like gave me a heart attack . we watched fans leave thinking they would call the race so our seats got better and lower every hour . we stuck it out and heard the track dryers around 11pm got seats on the first deck for the 11:56 pm start of the race and after all the crap we went through my wife loved it ! and all during the wait it must have been close to a hundred fans black, white, hispanic even track workers shook my hand and said bill france is a sheep and they were proud of me for supporting the southern heritage flag on my shirt . my hand was tired but the respect from the northern and southern fans was well worth it . and the race kicked ass and made our stay in Daytona perfect !
when alex bowman and matt diburrito where startin off they were of course slow, now hes in the big leagues of teams (kendrick and wood brothers). Shows you how drivers can progress.

Another thing that makes it crazy for Dale Jr. is the fact it was the number 3 which was obviously Dale Sr's car/number. If I had to guess, thats probably what Dale Jr. was thinking of.
That's amazing about the huge crash by Austin Dillion's engine came out of his race car with other race cars at Daytona. This huge crash was in July of 2015.
I was here in the infield on turn 4. I was an Uber driver and took my fare inside and had a free ticket since the ticket holder decided not to go because it was so late. It was my first ever. I had a great time. Thanks Robert and gang. Miss you guys and hope all is well.
Wow one greatest racing in NASCAR history books. Still kind of shock see at end of finish line sure glad no 3 driver ok and the Fans. And rest all driver ok. Sure was wild racing in NASCAR. 2015. That in car with Dale Jr. and him looking in his mirror it's amazing what these drivers are up against at a superspeedway great job at Letarte breaking that down.
I know i'm gonna get a lot of criticism for saying this, but the 3 car has been through flips, heartbreaking moments, even having one of it's drivers dehydrate on LAP 1 of a Darlington race, but it never had a catch fence crash until now, so i guess we can check that off the list of things that can happen to the 3 car in NASCAR
It's strange how people see what they want to see. Junior "allowed" his team-mate Jimmy Johnson, to take the lead at the 42.50 point. Just observe how Junior never made any effort at all to delay or interfere with JJ's move up to the front when he very well and easily could have. They both already knew who had the fastest car. Good to hear the voice of Ken Squier in the opening. Funny what a track owner from the state of Vermont did to get this sport the recognition it does today. Are there different weight rules for the cars with onboard camera's?
Jr. never won a championship... But I do think two tracks he was just as good at if not better than his dad at was Talladega & Daytona... Jr. won the opening Daytona 500 twice & won the 2nd running of it twice... So 6 Dega wins & 4 total Daytona wins
Something seriously needs to be done about that tri oval. That's the second time in 2 years that fans have been injured. The fact that even with the restricter plates they're going over 200MPH is worrying. How the hell Austin survived, let alone walked away unscathed is nothing short of a miracle. The humanity in the 88 teams reaction though should be praised
NASCAR can make the speeds whatever they want. The restrictor plates can be any size they wish them to be. They simply choose to have the cars above 200 MPH.
Josh Robbins No one was injured in Dillion's crash, and Dillion survived because of the seat belts and head and neck restraints (aka the HANS device) so he wouldn't go flying in his car like in crashes from the 80s and 90s, when you run a race at any restrictor plate track, the cars are going to be running in close packs, so even if Daytona didn't have the trioval and was just a normal oval, these kinds of wrecks will still occur
Does anybody know at what minute does the crash happen because I saw watche the first 30 minutes and i am still waiting for the scene to highlight it for you all amigos
