  • Here is another way to find the angular velocity vectors that are in the same direction as the angular momentum vector. In this case, I'm using google Colab to take the determinant of a 3x3 matrix.

    Thanks a ton for posting this video, I'm not a mathematician or an engineer or physicist, but I needed to use an inertia tensor in a structural biology application and this was a very helpful explanation.

    The determinant for that matrix is: 1.09375 × 10^(-7)
    To get rid of those 'balloon tips' that come up (I don't like it either), click the gear icon (settings) in the upper right of the code window. In the Editor tab (along the left), uncheck the "Automatically trigger code completions" box. That should do it, I think.
