Have you ever considered doing cold milling. It is a process of using clean recycled asphalt millings and chemical adhesion that is then rolled like hot asphalt. Cut your costs down significantly. Clean asphalt millings in my area go for $17/ton. I’m surprised your friend Chip didn’t mention this process. Maybe reach out to Hawke Seal and see if they would be willing to help.

They can never understand what you mean, usually it’s self discipline, or substance abuse or mental health issues but regardless those feelings are significant the exact opposite of the good feelings these guys have when they are able to buy their first house or buy their parents a house. Life is 80% self work 20% opportunities obviously it Varys person to person but that’s my experience I’ve put in about 50% self work maybe less and pounced on about 7% of my opportunities 😂😂😂 I hope to one day correct it because these lows are horrid.

  • @dbhpsu
    @dbhpsu Před měsícem +2

So doing some quick math (i think my math is solid) :
    2500ft track @ 20ft wide is = 50,000 sq ft ($150,000) so assume $3.00 per square foot
    2000ft track @ 15 ft wide is = 30,000 sq ft ($90,000)
    1500ft track @ 15 ft wide is = 22,000 sq ft ($67,500)
So if you get a more accurate length and narrow the track a little its much more feasible.

There is a track in Odessa TX called Rimrock Raceway. The owner there made the track worth extra paved connectors between some corners and extra sections so the track can be reconfigured a half dozen ways or more. Every week, he runs a different configuration and also switches directions from clockwise to counter clockwise.
It's a little more money up front, but you can create a much better long term experience.
They also run league night races every Thursday.

Guys. To raise the funds, do a build give away truck simple.
As far as the racing goes, do a 12 hour race, 4 drivers per kart. I raced karts in Aus, and the endurance series was the coolest race to compete in. It's a real team event, the karts are fast enough to have fun, and the Honda motors will do the job.
With 4 drivers, this will expand your driver selection to 134 drivers rather than just 34. A 12 hour race will also involve pit stop manditory tyre change, which the team must do on their own with manual tools except the refueling. For refueling this is a mandatory 2 min stop for all competitors, so it evens the field out. For this style kart it's the best format and the most fun.

You could do it in sections as you have the funding maybe start out with a oval then eventually come off with another section and then eventually another have it to where each one can be shut back down or cones put up or whatever and you can make different races a diverse track in the end. A basic oval to start then on to other parts just think about it just trying to help get you up and going faster brother.

    Love go-cart racing!!
OK they have a cool track in West Palm Bch, FL.
They bought one of those US Steel metal buildings . Then they bought some of those commercial building heavy duty storage racks and a small size, light duty forklift. Keep your pallets and nail a 1/2 sheet of 1/4 plywood on top of each pallet and paint it. Then place your cart back on top of them and store them on the metal storage rack . 10 wide X 5 high. Because there's good money in storing people's carts also for the ones that don't have a trailer or room in their garage. 💡💡😀👍..
The buildings are very affordable. They come and install the metal frame one day and metal roof, siding, and nice rollup Doors the next day. They will send you the blueprint on the size of the concrete slab and where to install J bolts needed to set, and secure beams to concrete. You have to pour concrete to their specs and set bolts into wet concrete to their specs also. They do the rest. They are awesome buildings for what you need. You can design to have doors wherever you like.

Asfault is cheep. Just rent the equipment and lay the tract yourself with asphalt. Get all of your buddies together and DIY. I would like to see a bridge or two in the course. Make it the best tract in the nation.

It would be cool if you picked up a couple motocross bikes and investigate possible track layout on them. It’s good content, good fun and quick way to see if you like the potential track plan.

Road America in Elkhart, WI has the perfect go kart track as a reference. Good amount of turns. Wide enough track and includes good elevation.

Maybe put down some crush then clay on top, at least the base wouldn't erode as much from rain and make it easier to repair? Take care Brad and Dad and God bless👍💙😇

U can use asphalt grinding and roll it out. It will pack down and harden up and it's way cheaper

Cooper River Dragstrip had a dirt return road. They priced asphalt and paving. Priced Concrete. The concert was the cheaper route. Good luck with your project. Keep up the CZcamsing.

This is super easy to figure out. You need 100k for the track right so you presale 1000 tickets to the first race weekend for $100 each. Once you have your 1000 entries covered you have your 100k dollars. In the meantime source some prizes and food venders. Good luck let me know when I can plop down my 100.

Time to step up your merch game. Make money from a special edition shirt. Plus there has to be fans with equipment willing to help. I am a commercial project superintendent from Buildings to civil road work. Most definitely invest in drainage pipes to allow water to pass the high areas under the track. Also take into account ground stabilization at least 20’ in all directions around the track. There will be a lot of water coming off that track and taking the path of least resistance. Asphalt is the way to go.
You may be able to get away with 1.75” of asphalt with the correct prep work. Especially if it’s for go karts only. I recommend getting I civil engineer the review before starting any work. Big risks can bring big rewards. Wish you all the best of luck. 🍻🇺🇸 looking forward to what ever you all decide.
