Thanks, Mark. Great comparison. You were able to clarify all the nuances. Great job!
This video was great! I needed this
*I leave here my contribution to your viewers. R7 suffers diffraction above F5! 33MP doesn't do well in a short sensor space, it's the same with the 90D. So in terms of image the R10 with 24MP does better in definition and light capture!*
Yes!
Great comparison as always Mark. You proved that the R10 could work for talking heads where you have control over the lighting. May give some people a cheaper option but man that R7 is nice.
Well covered. The LED's heating up the room always gets me too, I'm like why, how!? It does't seem right.
😂😂💡💡🔦
Great video as always..
Very nice video, thanks a lot.
Very helpful video
Hey man, big fan of yours! So I recently found the zve10 which extremely rare in my country and it was $870 body only, do you think it's worth it?
The body only is $699. And they manufacture them again now. So you should be able to buy one at retail price soon
Overall I couldn't be happier with my R7! Throw on the EF-S 10-18 and you have a vlogging machine. Add the 100-400 and /or the RF800 and you have a birders (which I am) dream. Cheers and happy Friday.
Glad to hear the 10-18 works so well.
Hi! After watching tons of videos about these and other Canon cameras your video is so refreshing! I mean you compared footage on both cameras and made me smile. Well, now I certainly know which....youtube channel to watch :)) As for the cameras, I'm still deliberating, cause 1500 is a bit too much for me. I have a question about R10 and no dust protection. What if I shoot outside in a windy, sandy and dusty environment(without changing the lenses), will I get dust on the sensor? Will I have to clean the sensor after it? Or should I get another Canon camera?
if you leave the lens on, you will have no worries about dust. but if it’s bad weather, like rain and sandstorms, the camera is not weathersealed so it will get damaged in bad weather.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Well, I generally don't shoot in a rain, can't imagine a situation where I would need to do it unless it's alien invasion or something :) As for an occasional sand and wind thing (not a sandstorm, but a strong wind picking up sand from the ground), it might happen. I actually have no idea if my Canon EOS 450D is weatherproof or not, but it has mirror cleaning feature, and mirror generally protects the sensor. I used it for years and never had to clean it. I'm probably overthinking it now. Thanks for the reply.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Oh no... now I'm back to the R7. Just home from a lacrosse game in the rain. The whole reason to buy one of these is to get great vids and pix at my son's sporting events.... dang. This is not easy! Maybe I can find a refurbished R7...
This helps me decide which camera I will upgrade from the canon m50, and thank you
I guess R7 all the way?
If you have some full frame EF glass you like and live anywhere where the prices are better (= R7 and R8 similar or the same price) i would also consider the R8.
I live sadly in middle europe, even needed to go to easter europe so i can buy the R7 for a "good" price (1200€ with 18-150 kit).
The R8 cost in america as much as the R7, but here in middle europe the R7 is about 1600€ (with 18-150 kit lens!) and the R8 body only 1900€.
If i would not have had the R7 as the R8 was released, i would have probably gone for the R8 despite the higher price.
The R8 give:
- 4k60 DOWNSAMPLED (tack sharp!), 1080p in 180 fps and sharper/better IQ than R7 in 1080p120.
- noticable faster sensor (i think its like 16 vs 33ms so 2x as fast)
- full frame... and even the sensor from the R6 II!
- the faster sensor also improve autofocus performance a lot as well shooting in electronic/silent modes is usable.
@@harrison00xXx I also like my R10, though no IBIS but doesn’t really matter for my case tbh I have IS anywyas
Loving your videos mark
I have started vlogging and I'm thinking of buying a new camera
Recommend me a good budget camera to start with
Thanks
The Sony ZV-E10 is the best value vlogging camera in my opinion, especially when you factor in lenses.
Thanks Sir🫶❤️
Have been watching you for over a month now and you're massively underrated
@@syedtahashah5553 thanks!!
Price for Performance R10 is better for the money at least in my view. I think R7 has the IBIS C Log but it coems at a price I was not willing to pay almost 50% as just much the whole price of the R10. I have an f1.8 IS lense. Job done. For photography. Videography is a different debate.
R7 is better.
Especially in photography terms. I absolutely enjoy vintage lenses around 20-150mm since IBIS works great in this range, even some very long (1,5 to 2 seconds on a 24mm) exposures i made handheld already very sharp only because of IBIS.
The R10 is pretty obsolete since the R50 is even better "price to performance", and for any higher needs the R7 is anyways the absolute least you should pick.
Hey everybody, I want to upgrade to a mirrorless camera. Should I go for R7 and kit lens or R10 and invest the money in better lenses ? Thanks for your advice !
R7
what is the base iso for HDR PQ? i wish i can see R10 pair with full frame lens with 0.71x speed booster
Which one is better in low light high iso?
I have canon r10 I use 50mm ef lens with viltrox adaptor will it be 80mm equivalent or normal 50mm?
And will the r10 get clog in future ?
I don’t know if canon can or will add clog. If it’s just an adapter - it will be 80mm equivalent unless it’s a Speed-booster (focal reducer)
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis thanks for the reply ❤️
Do I see an R7 vs. Sony a6600 video coming soon? :) Is a 2019 camera worth the same price?
Ha - I think Sony is overdue for an a6600 update - so I hesitate to make that. Spec wise - The R10 is better in pretty much every way except lens selection. (Which is a huge factor)
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis haha fair enough! Looking forward to that ND filters’ video then!
Hello, I have a big doubt, I intend to use the camera both for videos and for photos, maybe a little more of my use is for photos, I'm in doubt if I get this R10 or if I get a Nikon Z50, Nikon can get it with that traditional kit of 2 lenses a little cheaper than an R10 with an 18-150mm, but considering that both of these kits price are the same, which camera gives me better image quality in videos and photos? (using basic kit lenses and etc) I would really appreciate if you could comment, any comments for both R10 and Z50 will be very much appreciated, thank you very much
I would go for the R10
Can you please do a video on f1.2 Sony g master and 85mm f.14 stigma . I would like to know which one is the sharpest . F1.2 vs f1.4
Sony doesn't have an 85 1.2 GM - only a 85mm 1.4 GM. And the Sigma 85mm 1.4 is shaper. The Sony 85mm 1.4 is due for an update. F-stop number (1.2 vs 1.4 for instance) will not determine sharpness. It will determine how much light is let in and how much you can blur the background
Thank you for your respond I understand now
Between 5d iv and R7 wich better for wedding photo sessions and short clips?? My budget max 1800$ so i have these 2 options for camera body
Are you sure? 5D iv is much pricier than R7
@@Yessir1506 used camera 5d iv maximum 1200$ but r7 body new
@@Kkkk-yz7dl ah used 5D I see well I’m not sure

You're welcome!
Hello, I need to shoot a video of the assembly of the constructor (shoot many, many hours) from a distance of about 2 meters. Take off your hands as you collect small parts. Canon P10 with 18-45 mm suits me. ? Thank you.
the r10 has a recording limit. so you’ll have to start it every 2 hours.
R7, power over USB-C (PD) with powerbank or whatever and shoot in 1080p so nothing could even overheat. In 1080p60 i recorded once for nearly 4 hours endless with screen turned off. Screen turned on is like 2-3 hours "only" on a single LP-E6NH battery.
Love to see your detailed comparison videos. But like I said the last time, a more accurate comparison will be between R10 and the A6400. Both are almost equally priced and almost share the similar specifications. It will clear a lot of doubts and be so much helpful for all those people looking to buy within that price range. There are hardly any good detailed comparison videos between the 2 on CZcams currently.
Relax brother there are videos for everyone coming soon this guy has the best CZcams channel when it comes to camera comparisons. All the other Channels are fake scammers from India.
I have a feeling Sony will be updating their apsc lineup soon - but that’s just a guess. The R10 really beats the a6400 in most areas except lens selection.
You have a good point about the lack of comparisons for the a6400 and R10 - I should do a spec comparison at least. I guess I have my evening planned :)
@@lewcehjitl3282
I wouldn't use the word Scammers. I too have seen some of their videos. Basically they are beginners and lack the actual gear and resources. So what they would do is get the information from the internet about 2 cameras and make their comparison videos based on that information. Let's not call them scammers. They are at least trying.
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis
Way to go.👍🏻
Can't wait to see it.
I have a 80D but hated the weight! A very, very, big deal if you travel around the world! Especially, when you go to Europe! I ended up leaving my 80D and just taking a compact camera in it's place! The heavy Zoom lens would add further to the problem. R7 is Nice but not practical if you are a traveler. I hated the limited use of a compact and missed my DSLR when abroad. I chose the R10. Good Compromise between Heavy DSLR and limited Compact Camera
Great point. @markbennet, that might be something to investigate. What is a good camera for travel? Vince, you might have just made my decision for me. I am upgrading from... are you ready for it... my iPHONE! I love being able to take a few great shots with my iPhone since I'm basically looking for content on my socials and my websites. But the iPhone is failing me as of late as I try to take photos of my son's sports events. Thus, one of these R series would be my best bet for sports photography... and I'd need a zoom. I want to travel and plan on taking the R7 or R10 (I still can't decide darn it!) and I do want to travel light. So... maybe the R10 is a better choice. I really don't want to fork out that extra dough for the R7 when I plan to spend another $1500 on glass. Ugh, choices!
I had the R7 + 18-150 at the last vacation (l was literally flying there to pick it up much cheaper!) and it was literally perfect. 18mm so about 29mm effective FL in full frame terms was mostly wide enough and 150mm were often not enough zoom, but also served very well considering its small size and light weight.
With 4k60 crop mode i reached up to nearly 600mm with digital stabiliser, 600mm is pretty much for this "heavy" 18-150 zoom lens, and its really made for travel.
I immediatly sold the 18-150 as "as new" as i came home since its not usable for me (i have 17-55 2.8 EF-S and other, better suited and better stuff in general for my needs). My R7 "body only" after selling the kit lens costed me about 1050€, something i would have paid at home (Austria) like 1550€ body only. In Moldawia it was like 1350€ R7 + 18-150 Kit.
Is there a battery grip for both?
No
Mark Bennett's Odor Crisis 🤣
New channel
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis That's comedy gold right there haha. "Do you smell like doodoo? You're in the right place!"
Even though I have Canon EF lenses after waiting 2 1/2 months for an R7 that never showed up and no news when... I said enough is enough there are some amazing new crop sensor cameras on the market way better specs I'm willing to pay that bit more for the camera Fuji XH2s or the XH2 and my favourite is the OM-1. Canon would have been a dead end mount with no third party or even worthwile RFs lenses. In the UK RF lenses are way off the scale if you can afford RF you wouldn't even waste time with these 2 cameras. You can't even get hold of an R7 without waiting for many months here in the UK. Canon really lost my interest totally after over 20yrs.
I have to say I am hearing this type of thing a lot. People are not happy with the choice canon is giving them right now. Count me in the camp. The only Canon I own right now is the M50.
can you do a comparison between the r10 and the iPhone 14 pro ???
I did a ZV-E10 vs iPhone 13 Pro - That should give you a pretty good idea

@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis I loop your videos on my watch
@@landonbailey That makes you the second best kind of person
Actually I think I am smelling you through the YT algorithm. I was thinking Canon merphaps should alow 3rd party lenses for the APS-C cameras, maybe not for the FF.
that would be a good compromise yes.
Master typing skills there from myself. I must say. I do wish you we're in SoCal you are way too funny I would see your shows.
Viltrox has already a right for a 50mm lens with Canons autofocus protocol. Im wondering if its going to be a 1.4 for APS-C or even for full frame, or a F0.95 for APS-C for the bokeh and low light addicted, im a bit hyped since the first time canon allowing a 3rd party RF mount lens with autofocus.
Lets see how well Canons IBIS will work together with 3rd party lenses stabilisers, or if they mainly hope on usable IBIS and make simpler, smaller, lighter and cheaper lenses which i would also like.
Always enjoy your videos, even if Canon's lens decision means there will not be an RF system in my future. Still exploring the so-called "sweet spot" where you spend money and actually get a substantial real-world improvement over an entry-level or phone as opposed to merely spec gazing... I agree that if one is looking at these, one should save or steal the extra $$$$ for the R7.
Canon R10 vs Sony A6400 vs Fuji XS10 needs to be there.

@Mark Bennett's Camera Crisis I just want you to know that I spoke with someone at B&H Photography about these two cameras. His name was Abraham. I told him I was trying to decide between these two cameras and would he help me decide. Guess what his first response was? Go with the Panasonic Lumix G9 Mirrorless Camera. 😂
I know Abe!! He's great. And the G9 is a better camera I think too - as long as you don't need autofocus in video and you don't need the blurriest background possible (better lens selection too).
@@MarkBennettCameraCrisis Seriously? I thought it was hilarious he pointed me in a totally different direction. He didn't sway me tho. I am taking video and photos of my teenage son playing lacrosse and football. I need autofocus in video and love the blurry background. But wow, that was really funny! The second guy I spoke with was Daniel C who assured me the 10 would be great for me. I'm upgrading from an iPhone (lol) and a Rebel from 2010. I still want the 7 tho! :D
@@andreazehnder2404 The 10 is great - especially if you need autofocus. Just make sure the lenses you are looking for are available,

I think I will get the R10, where I life the price difference is 600€ and the R10 looks amazing
A R7 is 2000 here😥

You must use same lens during tests.
in every test except the auto mode side by side and rolling shutter side-by-side I used the 18-150 on both. Studio test, stability, dynamic range, slow motion, 4k60 - all the same lens.
