Yea
Noice !
Will do for sure!..this video was great love when you do classical pieces on bass..speaking of...when do we get another tapping through time!?
Did you tap 7 lands to pay for the cyclonic rift?
You are very good on the bass guitar!

Hey again
Hey sir !
Que decepção ver vc aqui vinheteiro, volta pro teu esgoto e não vem estragar canal bacana desses não.
Your 4 string piano is cool and all, but I prefer playing my 88 strings BASS.
U mean 264 string BASS cuz every piano key has 3 strings I think.
Sorry for being annoying Iâm bored... wish you best and I need to go sleep now...
@@RavenYan the deeper notes have 1 string, the middle-deep have 2 strings and the rest have 3 strings

Change the strings in the bass to piano strings
P.S.: I'm a engineer
It would be a shame if someone replaced the strings with fishing line, wouldn't it?
Not surprised to find you here...
That will be a good collab
DON'T YOU DARE GET IDEAS, MATTIAS
Your skill is out of this world. Holy shit.
The piece you played on the six string where even you said that it was hard... i genuinely think there are less than 1000 people in the entire world who could play that piece as well as you did here.
I've been playing bass for 14 years and I couldn't even scratch the surface there.
I would love to see some kind of story time video where you explain how you managed to become this proficient on bass guitar. Your skill level is FAR beyond most of us.
Greetings from Germany.
Hope you saw his latest video where he explained how to do it : )

As a pianist who doesn't know how to play stringed instruments, I actually see a bass as 4 pianos (one for each string), since the intervals -- relationship between the keys/frets -- are the same.
Ermm piano is a string instrument
@Greta Thanos wait really?
Think of it as a 230 string tapping monster.
@Greta Thanos It's both, although officially in percussion
not sure about bass but in the guitar, it's basically 5 keyboards with 3-4 notes each, and the High E string (the highest string on the guitar) is like a much bigger keyboard.
Jeeeez. Arranging 4 pieces (and an original riff) for 1 video! A for affort. A+ for execution. I'm curious if it would be more difficult to arrange/learn a single complete piece since there are repeating phrases/themes compared to excerpts of the more iconic parts parts as you've done here. Genuinely curious. Either way, love the content! Great work, as always!
Thanks! Itâs probably easier to learn one coz like you said - repeated themes etc. Having 4 shorter pieces does separate them into bite size chunks though which is mentally slightly easier. But overall still harder đ

I played bass as a teen and I have up on it and returned to guitar because my Slammer by Hammer copy of Fender Precision sounded like a muted dead elephant farting.
This is HEAVEN.
I am convinced that Charles is one of the best bass players in the world

TwoSet will be proud of you with the comment you made: 'if you can play it slowly, you can play it quickly'

Davie504 for the memes; Charles for the music.
Lol. Though i miss davies music too. Good thing we have youtube
Vinheteiro against Funk
Absolutely. Davie is fun but Charles is a master musician

The best thing about your pianos is that you're able to get them up a flight of stairs easily.

I subbed you because you are a great player, challenge yourself, and teach too. I've worn my old hands out after over 45 years of hand percussion on my congas (talking drums, still haz the same skins, and still have my old pair from 1975 :) ), and have taken up a guitar in my old age to work through arthritis damage, it is people like you who inspire me, I thank you very much man!

I've watched a lot of your videos over the course of this year and I can honestly say I'm wildly impressed by your playing every time. Thank you for the content.

Iâm not even mad about the sponsor spot, Charles playing the bass makes me happy.
That's the way sponsor spots should be - open about it being sponsored, and still worth watching.
Hey Charles, nice to see Lord Vinheteiro in your video, he is one of the best Brazilian musicians youtubers. Another one that is very good is Fabio Lima, master of the acoustic guitar, I recommend his videos playing Rondo alla Turca, Brasileirinho or Top Gear Theme. Now I found it curious how Fur Elise on the 4-string piano (also known as bass) became like Celtic music. Anyway, great video :D

Vinheiro is basically Keemstar playing the piano, "best" is definitely a stretch
Marcos Kaiser is a master. And to end it all you should look at Yamandu Costa.
Vinheteiro is awful... He's a total elitist who hates current black music in Brazil... And he's not that great a pianist either... Please stop giving him space...
OMG, your riff (or should I say rift) for Cyclonic Rift is very on point! That's how I feel everytime my opponent casted an overloaded cyclonic rift.
Keep up the good work Charles, on a side note do you also play Magic The Gathering??:)
Yeah that took me back to 1997 or so. Is M:TG a thing again? That's rad.
You, my friend, are otherworldly in your talent! I am dazzled at your musical mastery! The bass is so expressive in the right hands.
My favorite piano piece is "Cowboys from Hell" By little known ensemble titled "Pantera".
Loved it!!! Charles you made me cry again!
Please continue making these piano covers.
Some guys said "Satie", that would be great.
But I also like your metal covers, so please, gift us some piano, and metal for Christmas.
YOU ARE GREAT!
Charles is a true god if he can do circus Gallop on bass.
Lol
Charles, you're amazingly talented, man! A lifetime musician here, altho I haven't really yet "integrated myself". Mostly guitar player, also - playing piano and singing. Bass - I maybe have touched once, twice? Anyways, discovering you, your music, there's something deeply satisfying hearing your bass playing, it's like a celebration and sadness for me in the same time, sadness because I have a few guitars, but not a bass :D Never knew classical music can be played, sounding so fine on bass, there's something unique in that! Of course it wouldn't happen without your love for the classical music, that's the magic! And yea, your tapping technique is so incredible, totally putting me to shame as a guitar player (ridicolous). Keep rocking it, man!
Still no answer from Davie but a New video from Charles Berthoud, NOICE :)

Sick! Those picks are cool, and like- that MTG riff of yours was absolutely AMAZING.

Your transcriptions to Bass are articulated and accurate! Well done man!

Those picks are epic!!! As a MTG player since 1st edition I cant tell you how happy it makes me to see this featured in your video.
@ 3:10 the most amazing bass I have ever heard! What a fantastic choice and you did such an amazing job at it!
I'm always amazed when you tap out a melody with one hand while plunking out the bass line on the other. Have you ever looked at the Chapman Stick. It would give you a lot more flexibility in note selection and it seems to me it would fit your style of playing. Your bass technique is top notch and always a pleasure to listen to.

Charles is my favorite pianist!
2:35
Debussy, 2 Arabesques. This was played at my wedding - you did me proud.
Dear Charles,
Those are the coolest pianos Iâve ever seen and I LOVE when you play them!
I had no doubt that Beethovenâs âFur Eliseâ would be the most famous piano piece of all time. I wonder if old Ludwig thought his beautiful piece would be the starter piece for every young aspiring piano player? Not that itâs an easy song to play, just the introduction is a bit simplistic. It really picks up in the next movement and then requires quite a bit more skill, but itâs so recognizable that everyone wants to first learn it.
Great job with all of these piece Charles. Youâre actually not a bass player? There are people who play instruments and then there are musicians and you are most certainly the latter. A musician just naturally understands music, has natural rhythm and can usually play many different instruments if they try. Iâve been playing guitar for more the 45 years and have taught students from time to time.
I can instantly tell who are musicians and they are the only ones I really care to teach. People who are not natural musicians can still learn to play an instrument and I actually admire those who are not musicians, yet have learned an instrument anyway. I just donât have the patients for those people because learning he instrument is so much more difficult for them, but I so admire them, I just want someone more patient to teach them.
Even after many years of playing and instrument, it is still quite obvious which are the musicians. They may play all the right notes and time signatures, playing everything correctly, even using all the proper fingering techniques, but their playing never feels organic or natural, usually having a mechanical feel to it. You can tell they are still counting out measures and rhythms in their head.
Your playing sounds effortless, even though I know you have many hours of practice, it doesnât sound that way. The music flows from you directly to the instrument, like it is another part of your body. You are obviously a musician and can pretty much play any instrument you choose, youâve just chosen bass as your main, as I had chosen guitar. Keep making the beautiful music Charles. Youâre a delight to listen to.
I can see you a lot of thought into this
No one talked about how funny and exaggerated his search queries are.
Hey up Charlie you think you've seen and heard everything in music, then a friend posted a video of you playing on your neon bass. Amazing stuff...all the best to you for whatever lies ahead...keep music live !
