My grandparents live in Oslao not far from this place and we use to frequent this pebble beach when I was younger when we come for visit during summer holidays as we live in Davao at that time. I miss this place so much 😭. I haven’t been back in while since my grandparents passed away and because I live in the UK now with my own family. But Mabua, Pebble beach holds many childhood memories for me. Cherished forever in my heart.
Mater Patino Mabua is in San Francisco, Surigao del Norte. Near Ipil, Surigao del Norte and not too far from Lipata Ferry terminal for Leyte. I think there’s only one Mabua. 🤔
Allaine Sy it is definitely part of Surigao. The main city is not too far from there. But geographically, Mabua is part of Surigao del Norte. Unless land mass changed dramatically over the past 7 years? And Mabua changed location? 😂 I don’t know. As I’ve said I haven’t visited since my grandparents passed away. The last visit we did was in 2013.

After the internet started bringing in foreign tourism, only then are western-standard facilities starting to get built. The supply chain, however, is still subpar. Quite a lot of goods that would be easy to come by for hotels in Thailand would be difficult to source here. Either because they have to be imported or they have to be shipped, often through still undeveloped travel infrastructure.
If there are 7641 islands in the Philippines and each viewer says come to my island that would be fun. I suggest you have to go to Panay island in the Visayas and you will be able to visit Boracay (Aklan), Guimaras (Iloilo), Gigantes island (Concepcion Iloilo), Antique there is another one too. And I agree its cheaper in Thailand for hotels

Mabua pebble beach is now develop with resorts... I remember way back 2015 I can only see local residence there :) but I love that you went there... That's one of my fave beach in the Philippines because it is really unique :) i went back last year and it is still beautiful

The clouds formation from Visayas and Mindanao never fail to amaze me. I live in Luzon and we also get those fluffy clouds but seems very common down south. Add those clouds to a horizon in a beach and a sunset -- that's live postcard 😍. Enjoy guys!
Nice of you to get out of the island and have some little holiday! I am jealous! I live in Metro Manila, and the farthest I have been to is a mall that is a 15-minute walk away from my place, hahaha! It is really understandable that some prices will shoot up during the pandemic because some resources are hard to acquire and some services need money to keep their businesses afloat. Have a safe trip and enjoy!

I agree, the Philippines lags behind most of the other South-East Asian countries in terms of tourism infrastructure (they are improving, though). That includes, accommodation, transportation, and the facilities that cater to the tourists' needs.
Story is now very confident in the water. She went straight into the pool. Her water confidence developed a lot compared to when you first arrived in the island
