Another use of the Skull Lantern, is that it can be traded with Snuggly the Crow for a Ring of Fog.
Similarly, a Sunlight Maggot can also be traded with Snuggly for the Old Witch’s Ring. When equipped, this ring allows you to understand what Fair Lady is saying (Quelaag’s sister).

Skull lantern is awesome, I use to run around with it for sht nd gigs lol very handy , I traded my for a ring of fog
Wait, the skull lantern makes a bread crumb trail show up? Also you don't actually have to time the silver pedant right, you can just spam it.
Oh you can definitely spam away, but I have been unfortunate enough to get had just in-between spams, so it's not completely safe!
And when I refer to getting the timing right it's more in relation to the time it takes to initial trigger, so it's always best to use earlier than anticipated
Also, the skull lantern does indeed leave a breadcrumb trail. I didn't test it in the entirety of the tomb of the giants, but I can say at least from the pit patches kicks you down, there are breadcrumbs all the way from there to nintos golden fog fate

1:11 Only problem with this logic is that you're only saving 1 Humanity; since you get Humanity for killing enemies, you'll likely have at least 1 for most of the game, so it'll never really be worth it, as you can Reverse Hollowing immediately anyways.
The previous point, about the Bloodstain, still is a nice tip, but only when you didn't spend your Souls on the last bonfire for some reason, and intend on dashing past enemies to get them back: two things I'd recommend avoiding to begin with.
I feel it's light a "ecaspe rope ", you know, leave the dungeon,,,at the cost of your souls , so if your already dead , head back ,revive , etc ,
I personally have run back nd your right, killing them , or being patient, is a far better approach,
