    ***** About Diamond B Farm *****
Purchased in 1994, the year Kevin and Cindy married, the farm has been our home for 27 years. My parents are city slickers but found their way to farming through a mentor and other friends who showed horses. My name is Haley, and I am the main person running this account and only child and daughter to Kevin and Cindy. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a family who has a strong value for agriculture. We have traveled the United States showing livestock and doing various judging competitions. We raise registered Charolais beef cattle, Belgium draft horses, Orpington chickens, Jumbo Coturnix quail, and a whole barn yard of other animals. I will be graduating soon from a 4-year institution and decided that we needed to start showing people what it is like living on a farm and how easy it can be to implement small farming practices in your life.
We currently upload every Tuesday but hope to start generating more content as summer starts, so be sure to like and comment on our videos and subscribe to our channel. We hope you all gain some kind of an education from our videos and urge you to go out on a limb and try something new outside.

You should cool your salves completely until cool without the lid to avoid any condensation buildup as water is your worst enemy here if you want to prevent any mold or contamination (bacteria) issues.

You really don't want to cap those up while they're still cooling. It causes condensation and that causes bacteria.

We are coming up on a year of owning a property and i ignorantly listemed to someone tell me all my Goldenrod was ragweed. By the time i learned what it is and how amazingly medicinal it is, its all gone to seed :( next year im getting on it! Salves, tinctures and teas! We have a lot of scarlet bee balm too! So happy to find channels like yours! Happy herbing from up here in Ottawa Canada!!

I love this. It grows everywhere and is such an untapped resource! I let it dry slightly and steep it in honey too, add it to Nettle tea or any other tea, or just take by the teaspoon during cold season.

I make salves here in Pa, with plantain leaves, wide and narrow, and dandelion leaves as well. I cut them into small bits then I use a point jar and put it into the microwave and nuke it until it's really hot, then add the leaves and set it inside and about 10 minutes of cooking makes a nice rich looking salve when I run it through a filter and then adding the beeswax. theres how I make mine using a microwave to fast heat instead of range top cooking.

Please dont drink "sports drinks" , they are full of harmful chemicals which are proprietary secrets. Get some pink Himalayan salt or Grey Celtic salt, it has the minerals you need. Make meat stock and drink that , one of the most health building drinks you can consume. Cover meaty bones with good salty water and simmer 4 hours .

I gathered my first ever Goldenrod today, 9/28/2023. I will attempt to make my first Tinture today. Later I may attempt to make an infused oil and maybe a Goldenrod salve.
My question is, should I hang it to air dry inside, or can I start today with it still green? Which is best?
Thank you for all your time, effort, and energy.

Try eating sour kraut 3 times a day. Don't do canned as heat kills enzymes, purchase in cooler in bags. Then start making it yourself. Look up " offgrid with Doug & Stacy, " utube & many others for instructions. Just Google. I have RA & just discovered this recently & it does help me. You know to cut your carbs. Keep researching & move your body. I rest then move. Be blessed 🙌

      @granmabern5283 Před 10 měsíci +3

Yikes!😮You can get someone to rub castor oil on your back a couple times a day. Keep a couple undershirts just for that so you don’t stain your pyjamas...It’s great for the skin and for bones and gives quite a lot of relief for about two or three hours. About a teaspoon should do the whole back. If you use more than that you can get an odd pelvic congestion, feels like a period coming on..that doesn’t. So, go easy.
Turmeric is a good painkiller but it’s an anti inflammatory so you can take some turmeric milk( golden milk) before bed UNLESS you already have anti inflammatory pills. ( they don’t mix! Take one OR the other) It’s great for the guts, too. The Golden milk recipe has black pepper to activate the turmeric, as well as coconut butter or else ordinary butter for digestion. There are tons of turmeric capsules available and some are VERY concentrated so read the labels if you go with capsules. Most capsules have “ piperine ” which is from black pepper. If you take capsules you should have some cheese or butter with it, and make sure you either use some pepper or the capsules already have piperine. Makes a huge difference in the effects.😊
My favourite is “ latuca seriola” which is wild lettuce. It grows in gravel and well drained soil. One or two leaves is enough to take the edge off of pain and calm the nerves. It has little leathery spikes along the back spine of the leaves, which differentiates it from sow lettuce, which has a smooth spine. It tastes like dandelion leaves. You can make tea, or else just scrunch up a leaf to soften those pokey things and then chew it and eat it. I wash and freeze a few layers of leaves and just keep them in a ziplock in the freezer.
Another one is comfrey. You can crush a leaf or two( they get big!) and put the squished leaf on as a poultice. You can make salve with dried leaves. Salve made with the roots is even more powerful. If you harvest the leaves, do it when it’s sunny. To harvest roots, you do it when it’s cloudy cuz the juices go down into the roots more when it’s cloudy.
Another one is calendula. ( Soucy, in French). You can buy the dried flowers at the health food store, and use it for tea or else make a salve with it. It costs 30$+ for a tiny pot of calendula salve at the pharmacy... ( drugstore) Great for arthritic joints, too.
      Heating pads are helpful!😊
These are gentle remedies and won’t eliminate all pain, but can help heal and they give some relief.
I actually cheated after several months and got a prescription for a “ salve” from my doc, which knocked the pain out. It’s pretty radical and expensive but I only use it when my back starts spazzing out, cuz it stuns me. I like that you apply it directly where the problem is, instead of eating it! This doctor’s recipe has to be made up specially in a “ compounding pharmacy” so my local pharmacy orders it for me. The ingredients are; Gabapentine 6%, Ketamine 7% and Lidocaine7% in a cream base with a pump. At first I only used it a couple times a week, and was not impressed but my doc said to use it 2 x a day for two weeks before giving up on it. After a few days it really did keep the pain gone 24/7, and the muscle spasms stopped! Now, I keep it on hand for when I’ve done too much and start getting spasms. It has a short shelf life but the pharmacy told me it doesn’t go bad it just gets weaker.
I also prayed to Saint Margaret Clitherow to help me deal with the situation, and sometimes I just asked God to give me a breather, and He did.❤
Surprisingly, it all did get better and now is about 80% good. Chin up!😊
