"Sundown" was Louise Post's best song. I always wondered why it was relegated to a B-side. It could easily have taken the place of "Celebrate You", "Fly" or "Twinstar" from American Thighs.
"Celebrate You" is her best song! It is so brutally honest! It defines American Thighs for me. "I lost my innocence today, when I learned how to write this." Come on! ;) However, "Sundown" is a damn good song and I love it every time I hear it. If I had to vote for a song off of AT to be replaced by "Sundown" it would be "#1 Blind" - oh alright or "Twinstar"
Well, personally I love "Fly", but "Twinstar" is definitely a weaker point on that album, so yeah, I'd have been happy to see "Sundown" take its place. or better yet, sit alongside it and the other songs somewhere. I'm always a fan of as many songs as possible (so long as they're somewhere on the scale of pretty good to awesome) being on albums.
Wish I had seen them live in this era. and "Sundown" is one of my all-time faves for sure.
Sundown is one awesome song
I love Sundown... A pity I didn't realize it at the time to see it live! :p

Ha! She is singing a song from "The Most Happy Fella" at the beginning, lol.
