First time ever. In the movie " Star Trek beyond", there's a scene where Kirk gets his shirt ripped, then after returning to the Enterprise, he goes into his closet for a new shirt, and he has a whole collection of shirts hung up in there.( joke focused on how he always gets a new shirt .) Look closely afterwards, once on the bridge he has a cup of coffee, he carefully sits down with it, and accidently spills some on his new shirt, with a surprised expression on his face." Crap,.....this is my new shirt." Shirts fear Captain Kirk.
The interesting thing is that I heard from somewhere that on set, I believe Shatner had been fat-shamed, and I think he was quite self-conscious about it too. Which I think was the reason for the change of style. Yet, they sure liked to show off his Bod a LOT. I don’t usually get that easily attracted to people like most women and men would, but I’ve always found Kirk/Shatner gorgeous, and for Spock/Nimoy to be quite cute!
He was. If you think folks are cruel nowadays, back in that era people were 1000% worse with the bullying. His body type and the fact that he has the same condition as Sir Patrick Stewart (Picard), but started to lose hair even younger than Sir Stewart was, most likely got him bullied to all hell and back. That explains why he was/is a jerk. He had to try to cope somehow

I’ve met Bill Shatner several times at early conventions. He was always wonderful, unless someone was being a jerk. DeForest Kelly was always the perfect Southern Gentleman. James Doohan was iffy, depending on his mood of the moment. Leonard Nimoy, always wonderful and patient. The best person to meet has to be Nichelle Nichols. Always delightful, personable and charismatic. I always felt that the “joy” level in the room rose when she walked in. You could just feel it. She mingled among the fans throughout a convention.

I met Mr. Shatner just a few years ago. I thought he wouldn't reply to something I said to him, but he did and was very gracious.
We all have bad days. My daughter and I got a photo taken with him at a convention a couple years ago. He was sweet and playful.
