The thing that is so beautiful about marimba literature is how interpretive you can be. This piece in particular can either be played rather energetically such as this rendition (almost expressing a deep joy for nature) or more contemplative and rubato. Both ways are exquisite and gorgeous!
IBTwist o
You can interpretative with any instrumental literature, it just depends on the musician
This is my favorite marimba song, so peaceful and its not just showoff music.
Has to be my favorite interpretation .... Although some people think its rushed, i think Jisu Jung was being to her emotions while performing the song. Beautifullllllll
You know you're a dope musician when the song you're playing gives the listener all kinds of feels....
hnnnggggg I love this!
これくらい綺麗に4本鳴らせたら気持ちいいだろうな…装飾音符、綺麗です。聴いていて安心します。美しい音色です。
@Vicfirth that was the.most beautiful marimba solo I have ever heard
listen to root by matt albano
Lia Arakal lol wut? no
I much prefer this faster tempo as compared to the slower feel a lot more people choose. It sounds more alive and breathing.
Good to all, I wanted to ask you if there is any person who knows a video that shows the final piece titled Passacaglia, complete improvisation of the book 4 mallet indenpendence by jak bam geem
thank you Takatsugu Muramatsu for this wonderful composition. And Jisu Jung for this wonderful performance. It's been a while since i can really enjoy a composition for marimba
It's a shame that I'm listening to this over speakers. I imagine it must sound so much more beautiful in person.

This is truly the most beautiful piece for solo marimba I have come across.
Best performance I have ever heard! She is top player!
This is an absolutely beautiful solo piece for Marimba. She performed it wonderfully with skill and grace. As someone who has performed this piece, I can say that it requires a good amount of dedication and careful practice. There are beautiful melodic ideas that are going on in the piece. I personally would perform it at a slower tempo just to provide a more tranquil sense to it although I think that this tempo added a sense of liveliness to it that worked amazingly. Overall wonderful performance!
how difficult would you say this piece is? Is it do-able for a sophmore in highschool? perhaps at a slower tempo?
An advanced 10th grader could do this at a slower tempo. Its pretty difficult though.
As slickster511 said, at a slower tempo this piece is definitely possible for a sophomore. As long as the student puts in careful practice, practices it slowly and really lets the music sink into his/her muscle memory.
A very beautiful solo performance. You can definitely feel it.
Fantastic! Great music, brilliant performer! Thank you Jisu Jung.
I just love her musical expression
Very beautiful. First piece I've heard of this composer, and not disappointed.
Lovee this version of this peice. So much more expressive and just pure beauty 😢
Absolutely breathtaking.
It's so beautiful how music tells a story amazing! I want to perform this for a I and e
I mean, what is there to say. She’s an incredible musician. That was a single take. Wow - absolutely beautiful.
Wonderful solo, amazing performer!
my god i am crying. this is beauty.
Imagine if this was your alarm in the morning, a wonderful Japanese woman calmly bringing you out of sleep with sounds from the Marimba.
+mic9check Not japanese...
Marc Hill Somalian, I'm sorry
+mic9check Korean......
+MaariaMarija Give him some slack guys :) It doesn't say the performer's name in the video title, only in the beginning of the video in small print.
Absolutely gorgeous.
I like listening to the person I like playing this song!!!
Wonderful piece and performance. Gorgeous
Thanks so much for this, its so wonderfull. !!! So beauty played !!
Incredeible !!!!!
Really great recording!
Absolutely Beautiful. Sort of island sound with a hint of some type of disney magic and a sprinkle of classical too; wonderful and romantic and great ending. Love and Peace to all lifeforms on this Earth and this type of music and styles like it, should be played everywhere to shift the energies and consciousness to the masses; to replace anger, hate and such to one of love, peace, harmony and unity. Love Chris
So beautifully worded Chris! This is how I feel about this piece but just didn't have the ability to express it like you have.
@@langadubazana Thank you, wish it was longer lol, such a great sound.
Jolie interprétation et très belle pièce. Quelle grâce dans le mouvement !!!
Such a talented performer!
I am so emotional right now.
I like this,it sounds pretty and soothing.
I can't wait to be able to play this piece
I know a lot of people prefer Lorenzo's version, but I don't understand that. Obviously he played it well, but that tempo seemed so slow and felt kind of dead. It sounds a lot more lively in this version.
That instrument sounds amazing. Great performance also.
it is so relaxing! I love it.
Beautiful!
Beautiful
That's really superb - thank you so much!
ALSO these mallets are perfectly soft and articulate ... noice
La musique,du Faso est une source intarissable de douceurs.
Elle permet de plonger au plus profond de soi et simultanément d'entrer en résonance avec son prochain, Yé Lassina Coulibaly🎉
1:10 is gorgeous
弾けるようになりたい、、
演奏になるかは別だけど、、

The hills are alive!

¿Qué baquetas utilizas? What sticks did you usé?
Imagine then recording this and she missed that last chord after playing all that
it's happened to me before with Libertango lol
How does one find the sheets for this music
Where can I get the sheet music for this
タイだっけ?のとこ弾き直す人がほとんどだけど、やっぱり弾き直さない方が綺麗だし曲として合ってると思う
Anyone know the make of the marimba that she is playing so well?
+gthegypsy It's an Adams 5.0 Octave Alpha Series!
Just let it go through LogicPro X ... 😇. But, beside of that, it's REALLY nice. Thank you, Jisu! www.as-mallets.de
I was wondering that too and now I am going to get this marimba.
Anyway I can get a PDF?
Those rolled chords though
Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeatifulll
Wow! Bravo!!!! Superb!
And the sound of the recording is amazing
Any mallet recommendations? How are the ones above? Has anyone played with them?
the timpani they’re amazing duotonal mallets, and they have a great light feel to them
Anyone have the (full) sheet music for this?
does anyone know what song the intro to these videos is? i found it a while ago but now I can't remember:(
Prelude bachs cello suite No. 5 or something along the lines of that
Hope that helps homie
死ぬまでに弾けるようになりたい曲の一つ。
Anyone know why she chose to end the piece with the octave F’s rather than the octave A’s? It’s written A’s. @vicfirth
My guess is that it’s just interpretation and sounds more at home.
Huh, in my original the last chord is F, C, A, F.
In what concert hall was this performed?
Sprague Hall at Yale
In my opinion this piece has to be interpreted differently, in here she gives the piece vibrancy and a shade of piece, staying musically connected to this makes the piece functional
WOW! beautiful
Neat
Is this "Fields of Barley?" It reminds me of the Eva Cassidy song
Can this be played of a 4.3 octave or is it written for a 5
Randi Gonzalez looks like there were definitely some low D's and C's, those probably can be brought up an octave tho.
Randi Gonzalez Im not sure if it can. But I'm gonna freaking try.
Randi Gonzalez you can but you can't play some notes. It goes through every octave.
does anyone know if her mallets are rattan or birch?
Birch, they only come in birch
유혜숙
Do you know what mallets are in each hand?
I know she is using 123s & 124s but does anyone know what set she is holding in which hand?
can someone throw me the notes of this play?
buy them!
That's a fancy lookin xylophone
What a great instrument.
If you make a mistake no one knows but you.
Depends on the peace
This one... Yeah
I can respect her abilities but I just personally do not like this style of it, it seems too fast and rushed. I would much rather listen to the version of this song published by Lorenzo Capasso. If anyone has different ideas please do reply to me, I'd love to have a conversation :)
I think its just that everyone else plays it slow. I like the flow of this one to be honest
I listened to both performances. I respect each performer. I prefer Jisu Jung's attacking it, almost blindfolded (!). There is a vibrancy in her playing that I just don't get from Capasso.
I agree. This one is much more fluid. Capasso almost sounds clunky. Not to say he didn't play well. If I were learning this piece Jisu's performance would be my reference. Aside from that, are there a metronome indications in the score, or just a subjective adjective?
No metronome markings.
You mean legato? xD
No
She is good ok, but this version a bit accademic, really fast whitout any breath... and the reverb is too much. anyway great mallets!
Stefano Ricchiuti - I agree. The tempo works at some points but at others is just rushed and therefore skips over parts that could be more beautiful with rubato
@@SophStevenson oml guys she is feeling the music. For the musicality to work it cant be all one tempo and honestly makes it even more beautiful
Noah Franklin I love the rubato, and I think feeling the music to convey the overall message is the most important part however, there are some rich harmonies here which require even more ‘pull and push’ in my opinion, other than that it’s a lovely interpretation:)
59 people have no souls
Wonderful!
