How many hours per day under indoor lighting? I am in zone 5, and I noticed you mentioned that sometimes zone 5 may be a little too cold for Buddleia and it will kill the roots. I've lost some nice butterfly bushes due to the cold, do you have any suggestions for winterizing them?

Not yet. Most shrubs in my zone go dormant in fall so they root better as summer cuttings. Butterfly bush is an exception - it keeps growing until frost. You could also try some roses that are still growing.
I have rooted many different plants in just water and in soil without rooting hormone. I have never rooted anything with rooting hormone, they always just rot away. Maybe i am using too much rooting hormone. I will give it another try.

I will have to try this with my Butterfly bushes. I am in zone 5 too and sometimes the winters can be quite harsh.

I'd give them 10 hours. A cover of fall leaves will keep the roots wormer.
Once the cutting is in the pot how often do you 10:25 water it ? Csn this been done in June?

Cool, what is your opinion on propagating buddleia globosa. I guess this should work too.
