There's no point signing Downes as competition for places in the middle of the park if you never drop Soucek in the Prem. He can't make a 1ft pass at the moment and he's not providing goals from set pieces either. Moyes is too stubborn to switch Antonio back to the wing so won't drop Bowen.

We've got to blame our clown of a manager for what went wrong today. It's not the players fault, when they've got a manager giving them off the scale poor instruction/tactics/lineup that are never going to be good enough for us to get any kind of positive , or semi positive result from the game. We've only got to look at how many points we've chalked up since Xmas, to see how poor we've been. For the final 22 games of last season we got 28 points. Also, for the final 17 games we only got 19 points. Considering that, I'm not surprised Pearce quit. Also, this season we've only got 4 points from 7 games (that's after spending £180M on transfers). We really do need to get rid of Moyes ASAP, otherwise we are likely to be the highest spending team to get relegated from the premiership.
Moyes needs questioning. It’s like he doesn’t even know his best team still. -Fornals can’t play on the wing and benefits in the middle -Benrahma and Scamacca have better ball retention These are two simple things that we can see. Why can’t the manager?
Also, Bowen’s been out of form since the beginning of the season, and he certainly doesn’t look to be finding it now. Don’t grab your head when you miss, just score the bloody goal. Scamacca would’ve put away that second chance Bowen had.

Seems like a crossroads at West Ham as a neutral. Seen all your games in their entirety and so far seems a mix of very average performances and bad luck. From the profile of player being signed, the budget, looks like a club looking to cement itself as a permanent competitor for Top Six, with a style of football that "aesthetically matches that". But is Moyes the man to deliver it, when he's traditionally been a "firefighter" or "club builder". And is he the man to coach that style....I'm not convinced he is. At the moment seems like a compatability issue/Moyes not feeling some of the new players have bought in or adapted to his methods. Maybe the change up in the coaching staff hasn't worked either.

I’m an Everton fan. Few points on Moyes in a sec but first, I genuinely like the Hammers, they’re similar to us. West Ham will be absolutely fine and Everton have been playing very well and could and should easily be another 6 points better off. We’re very hard to score past now and have signed real leaders. What I will say about Moyes is that there is always a ceiling with him. If you need to go steady a ship and cement a team in the league, he’s your man. What he can’t do is challenge for trophies. He has no idea how to manage the really big games and he struggles to manage big ego’s. He use to infuriate me at times when he’s stick to his favourites even when they were out of form and some of his tactics were baffling at times. He’s a good proven reliable manager but he’ll never win a trophy. He doesn’t know how. I’ll be interested to see how he manages Paqueta. He doesn’t seem a Moyes player. Moyes loves a Mark Noble type over a Paqueta. Anyway, all the best for the season. I think it’ll be a decent one for both of us.
