Messer vs. Sidesword

Messer vs. sidesword sparring. A pretty challenging matchup, where I found the high thrusts to my left especially difficult to deal with. I'm wearing the blue fencing jacket.

We sort of re-did this yesterday. One round of sidesword sparring immediately followed by messer sparring. My tripod is broken, so no video unfortunately.

Tip: If you are facing this situation as a short sword user; deflect, and run in to grapple with a dagger. Long sword will be a bit confused and then takes a dirt nap.
