In this episode, we continue the song utilizing our reference tracks to create a rough draft of our arrangement and track. Throughout the track, I get a bit of tunnel vision, which leads me to make some decisions I'm questioning. I'm a bit iffy on the 2nd break of the track as we introduce the Reese so let me know if it works and what you would recommend. -

you use the vocal too often try to make a rythm out of it like after party af after party . And then the drop i would make a fill before the drop or even silence that would make it stronger

I think you can layer your lead bass to add some variety.
Also, if you use uneven time on your lfo cut (like 1/3) you can profit from the possible polyrythm.
Feel like you missed out on that when you were playing with serum on that bridge part.
Great series so far man. Really like the dark lead you have added on the break here. Definitely gives the track more depth and atmosphere. Looking forward to the rest!

One of the timbales Zen checks out is actually used in a tech house track Camelphat - Monsters. Go to 1:13 of the Camelphat track and peep it. Zen is definitely using a different sort of bass then a more traditional tech house track unlike the track I mentioned. Also, I dont think the vocal is a good fit for the track! But timbales could definitely be used creatively here.

Turn off oscillator 1 and turn on the noise one, choose whitenoise, link an lfo to the noise volume knob, then filter it for more unique sound and you're pretty much done

As to the part where you got tunnel vision at. Maybe if you take the weird lead out of the 4 beats right after the build up and bring the synth and drop beat back in right after that might sound dope. Kinda like a fake drop

Not liking the timbales they don't add much to the track.
im pretty noobish when it comes down to producing and i dont understand all the discussions about if a track is in a specific genre or not. i mean if it's a great track, does this really matter? or has it more to do with being able to produce a specific genre without turning into the wrong direction? wouldnt this limit the whole creativity aspect of our producing?
No , it does not matter what direction it goes !
But....
Some days we might feel the track is AMAZING & the next day you might not feel the same way about the direction its going so you tend to remove things & add things to make it more closer to what you really VIBE To...In this case we all have a certain Taste in each Genre...Some like the Fisher Route, others Like the Walker & Royce, etc...But as long as you are making the track sound Nice & Its Flowing Good it will just come down to how much are you satisfied with the track!
The whole point is to Finish a Track , but these are just Phases & the Steps alot of Producers experience...& as long as your happy with the result , people will most likely like it as well...Its only those people that Over think it & over Analyse the track that will have something to say...
Kinda like when i posted that comment About the tracks sounding Dutch/Melbournish, i was just joking around but that kinda is Limiting the whole creative process , but i think there is also a way you can achieve what you like so it might just be 1 of many ideas you will have to try out to see if the whole track works together * & has to makes sense for the listener so it wont sound Off or Random..

The synth shot you have in the drop may fit better and lead in better if its a filtered version of the horn sound almost like a reverse verb

i think comment about it not sounding like tech house is to do that theres this more underground not so pop fisher tech house without synth shots at the drop like that, not goofy and it keeps it interesting with the loop without going into much melodies and stuff. this is more commercial tech house like dirty bird, its going main stream so much and hard core tech house fans will not really approve same as with techno fans and some of that new trancie techno now. you look at the TOOLROOM TRAX tech house and its completely different, look at ELROW and its similar but it sounds bit less pop. just like with edm, so many directions it goes and you've chosen this more popular one that storms the festival arenas now but underground tech house fans will not approve as its too mainstream. thats the sad bit about tech house - ITS TOO POP NOW and i'm sad as it can die off like big room did. point is, its tech house but proper tech house!
