I have tried Tepozan, but only the añejo,I rated it 84, you get aromas sweet vanilla,oak,cinnamon,fruit and a little bit of agave, as for the taste you get honey,oak, vanilla,smoke, butterscotch,bourbon and some agave. The texture is a bit thick, oily and smooth.
Thanks for the review. I have a bottle of this which I've not tasted yet. Tequila offcionados have either rated this extremely high or extremely low. For example the Tequila hombre channel is someone I truly respect the opinions of as he's offered amazing advice and brands especially those from NOM 1579. His recent review of this and G4 Barrell 6 Anejo was surprisingly low. He said that the burn was exceptionally long on the Volans Still and unpleasant. Then again I've seen others on tequila matchmaker rate this in high 80's to 90's from others I respect the opinion of. Not really sure what to think here other than maybe it's a pallet preference thing?

Personally, I enjoyed this tequila and I rated it quite high at 92 and that is considering the price flavors and aromas that I found to be pleasant and delicious in this tequila. I respect the thoughts and opinions of other tequileros like myself including the Tequila hombre, perhaps it was too much for him, but not for me. Now that I’ve tried I’ll say the aroma is nice. On the palette I have to lean more towards the hombres assessment here. I really like tasteful 🌶️. I have Tanteo jelapeno which is just shy of 100 proof for example that is great neat or in a cocktail. It is possible to have a still strength that more rounded and pops with flavor like Fortaleza still or Carerra for example. You can never judge tequila on the first sip until you assimilate to the high proof but each sip I took didn seem to chill/even out. Maybe I need it open up and give it another go. The burn wasn’t a pleasent warm burn that I get say with Terralta for example from the same NOM. What I will say was interesting is like 5-10 minutes later I detected the flavors you mentioned along with some green apple and cooked agave which was wonderful. But, damn that’s a while after sipping. Again maybe it need to open up. At present I’d be giving this 72 on TM. For the record I’ve loved everything else I’ve had from Volans like my single barrel repo I rated a 90. So I’m not a brand hatter quite the contrary. All the more why I was bummed ☹️ 😢. I will return to it an let it open up to see if it improves as it opens up. I smelled it again this morning and it does smell great lets hope the pallete improves.
I can’t argue with the Hombre, or your opinion on this tequila, simply I believe some Tequilas are not for everyone. On Tequila Match maker you said there’s others reviews you have seen rated “high 80’s to 90’s from others I respect the opinion of” What that tells me is some people love it and others don’t, and thats completely understandable, I enjoyed this this Tequila with my wife and she is not a big fan of high proof tequilas and she enjoyed it, I have tried tequilas in México that are 32% alcohol and had a terrible burn not heat, however, I do get spice and perhaps a bit more than mild burn but nothing harsh or unbearable, honestly I enjoyed this tequila and have nothing negative to say. Give it another go and let me know how that turns out, try even putting it away for a week and comeback to it , if that dose not do the trick , perhaps this tequila is not for you. I was at a tasting the other night where this was being offered and I’m pulling a 180 degree on this. I had 2 drinks prior to it and my mouth was well acclimated which changed everything. You’re correct this is a fantastic blanco but you need to be acclimated to the proof to truly enjoy it. I wouldn’t start off drinking this first thing.
I’m glad you liked it, its a really good blanco. It’s a spicy tequila similar to a jalapeño but it’s definitely drinkable and enjoyable at the same time. Now tell me what you rate this tequila after your recent tasting?
I thought it was a mix of all 3 water types they have like the regular blanco, but they changed it for this one. I am thinking of canceling my order I just literally made because I thought this was the regular blanco but at still strength.

Their website says 40% spring water and 60% deep-well water, and 10% overall expression is derived from fiber-fermented tequila.
