  • A beautiful day and very little wind. Heard that Hancock Bros., contractors from Pembrokeshire, were in the area. With some help from Danyrheol and another. Loads of spreaders required as the haul is a long one and across a busy dual-carriageway.
    We start with the farm and the loading. Hancock's JCB busy in pit and a procession of spreaders coming to load up.
    Thanks to Rhys for the tip and the others, too.
    Filmed in Carmarthenshire, Wales, UK.

    Great one Alan! The muck is like liquid manure. Never seen this before.

      Thanks Hans. That muck IS liquid manure.

      balmesh semi solid actually its whats left after the liquid is pumped off the top if it is'nt agitated, that kind of stuff is tricky to handle not quite liquid not quite solid but quite a pain

      Absolutely. I haven't seen a fork on a loader for years - it's always buckets these days and you can see why.

    Great video. Good operator on the JCB, using his mirrors properly.
    The JCB is on an 08 plate so in answer to down below, it is a 2007/2008 model.

      Thanks Paul. They were being VERY careful not to overload, and spill any.

    Slurry, the hardest type of shit to spread, you snap a shear bolt or just open the door to quick and that's a hell of a mess

  • @flattotheheadland
    @flattotheheadland Před 9 lety

    Nice video. Was the more liquid stuff pumped out prior to this or what way does it work? Or would it not make more sense to agitate it through out the year and spread it all as slurry?

    • @balmesh
      @balmesh  Před 9 lety

      The slurry was pumped out before - see yesterday's video on it. As for "more sense" who knows best? You, me, or the farmer on the spot?

    Is this a digester or storage ? It wouldn't be better to use closed storage with piping out let ,save u time ,energy and clean environment

    anouther grate video.. how does it spread . it doesn't have the things like a solid muck spreader or a the back or the pump like a slurry tanker

    • @balmesh
      @balmesh  Před 8 lety

      +peter tillings Rotary motion down the middle throws it out at the top, or in some cases, out of the side.
