  • We had the incredible opportunity to host 3 teachers in Ghana who teach about race. During their visit to our local community, Nyame Bekyere, we took the opportunity to have a quick sit down conversation with them about their experience in Ghana and traveling with us specifically.

just escaped the racist lower eastern shore of Maryland, after teaching university English there for 15 years. Retired and living outside of Accra. I run a nonprofit focused on rebuilding schools and educational programs in Ghana in cooperation with government and regional chieftaincy structures. The Tamasco Development Project.

These ladies don't sound like they had a cliche vacation. They sound like they heard a call to action and made a real connection.

Whoa Nah Brudda Diallo. This whole interviewing video was solid and something serious. It's so great to have Sista educators experience a Pan Africanist trip to Ghana. The teacher from New Orleans is on point with her analysis on Oneness. Respect.

For sure these sisters had a unique experience. Not at all a cookie cutter tour. They seem very relaxed and at ease in a new environment. Surely they've made it "home". KUDOS The Adinkra Group!

That journey is spiritual esp to those who are more attuned to self & environment. You land back on the continent & it’s as if the land knew your name, the land recognizes you the individual & embraces you just as the ancestors & kinfolk, you literally connect with the land setting foot ….

AS GHANAIANS WE LOVE THE SOUND OF CHICKEN AND GOATS, WE LOVE NATURE!!!!. I RATHER BE LISTENING TO THIS NOISE THAN SOUND OF POLICE SIRENS OR MACHINE GUNS IN THE US. I RATHER LIVE AMONGST CHICKEN AND GHOST THAN LIVE IN A DEVELOPED CITY WITH A LOT OF CRIME AND HATE.

Ghanaians recognized you only because of your accent.

Not only accent but also culture as in observed comportment - eg majority of Ghanaians would observe & lay in wait before engagement if no prior knowledge VS direct & quick engagement; stepping out looking fresh VS appearing to have been engaged in some physical work even if that’s a long walk in the sun, etc, etc. The clues come together so quickly for the local, & returning African diaspora may partially be perceived the same way

The lady in purple is lying, they only see her as different in the countryside and not in Accra, Cape Coast and some other places. Her own biases is making her think she looks different but she is not...................

Being quick to speak here & to judge without seeking to know where she’s coming from with her observation. I know to be 100% true what she is saying; discerning locals know in a minute who else is a local or not

What is wrong with you? No manners and having a diseased mind. I am a Ghanaian and I live in England and being for 20yrs and when I come home they know I don’t live in Ghana and I’m a bit different I speak twi and ga and can speak guan too but still they make you out. Behave! I’m a Tesano girl Accra,I know Abena, Alajo, akweteyman, achimota dzorwulu when we were children we walk around a lot. I went to green hill international school and goes to Santana market even Nima market etc but still after living outside for a while they can tell.
