No computer sucks...as long as you have expectations that are proportionate to what you paid. For $279, even accounting for the need to reinstall windows to get it to work, honestly it was less of a dumpster fire than I thought it'd be.

Try gaming on a Core 2 Duo, a Geforce 210 1GB, and 6GB of DDR3 RAM and tell me it doesn't suck. Now I have an i7 8700k, GTX 1060 6GB, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Much better. 😂

A free 20 year old Sony VAIO sucks, that's reality and that's my expectations. I happen to have one on a shelf in my basement. It has 256mb of RAM and a 64GB hard drive.

I bought a brand new one of those from Best Buy for around $300 maybe a year ago . Windows 11 install was mangled out of box but I wanted to throw larger ssd in there anyway. Some people would probably take issue having an OS issue out of box but it didn’t bother me . For the price the tiny machine runs pretty well.
If ur on a budget under 500 buck i promise u getting a 1660 or a amd 6600 n ryzen 5 5500 u will be happu enough u could always add a better gpu or cpu but u could build a rig with them specs n run a ton of games still just have to shop around but u can get something solid.

@@lisafan6365 I have hate went the price is so much for a weak system, I think it's best to buy used parts and build one yourself and see how it goes. I build a office gaming pc that pushes out 130fps on furniture, and the total was $151!
I recently bought a Gtx 1650 super for $75 off eBay, it’s now in an office pc that I build and average 170 FPS on most games!

It's an old i5-6500, I plan on doing another video with an i7-6700 to see how it performs

I have one, upgraded ram, psu and put a 1660 super in it. Was great for my first pc, I never had issues

I have a AMD Ryzen 3 4300g what would be the best gpu i should get around $150
I just bought a Hp elitedesk 800 g1 i5-4570, 4 core 4 threads, 4 gigs DDR3 and a 240gig HDD for $23.50. The shipping was about 25 so it was 47 for the computer all works even the DVD. I put in 4 more gigs of memory and a 1tb HDD and reloaded windows. I had a rx550 so put that in and I am getting 70 fps on steam in War Thunder at medium settings. I am watching you on it right now. I am going to put a 500 gig SSD in it and flip it. I watched the auctions for one that was getting no love.

Which office pc platform is your #1 recommendation out of all the ones you’ve built?
A 5000 score in Time spy is not a good score. You can gloss over the price, say its a good deal, its still a poor score an 4 GB of VRAM.

It's not that bad of a score for the price. That's slightly higher than what GTX 1060 6GB and RX 580* 8GB score in Time Spy.
*The real one, not the slower 2048SP which is just a RX 570.
@@Pasi123 If you got the computer for free, its still not a good score. A low performance computer at best. That's the point, how much a lousy computer cost is irrelevant when you turn it on.How well it performs is.
@@user-vs3tx9lv5c Not everyone need a high-end gaming PC. There's a lot of games that would run fine on a system like that.
It's mainly just the latest AAA games that need faster hardware but there's a lot of people who don't care about those games. You'd have no problem running most indie games or slightly older AAA games.
Yes its a low score but our system factors in price. For the price, its an acceptable score.
In my area, $250-300 is the typical customer budget.

Always wipe drives and fresh install Windoze anyway... Why would you feel safe with all the bloat/malware installed on prebuilt drives ?
Id always do a fresh instal on a used system, you never know what software is on it
Actually a pretty decent entry level gamer, and it can run Windows 11, should get driver updates for a few years yet, and seems to be reasonably clean...

280 USD would be perfect as a teenager's first PC, you could game, work, study and even do some serious code on it.
Just went to goodwill bought a $50 dell inspiron with a i5 6400 and found a old gtx 745 for $10 my 5 year old could not be happier.

For that price you can get a pc with 16gb ram r5 3600 rx 580 8hb with used gpu and cpu

My cousin has the pc with same specs ryzen 5 4600g and rx 5500 but he has 16gb ram and its not an hp pc it was like some mexican gaming pc but it was $333
I got a similiar HP Pavilion pc for 200. But it has a ryzen 7 5700g and no discrete gpu. Maybe i should put a rtx 3050 in it? PSU is 310watt 80+ gold.
Get a 550w psu and a 6600
@@RohanSingh-ng6zc A Ryzen 5700g has 65 watts tdp and a RX 6600 max tdp is 132 watts. 310 watt Gold is more than enough.

Also, my current rig has a H370-HDV inside. A couple of people told me that mobo isn't good. I'll have to find a better one.

It's not a bad deal but it's not a great deal
The E5-1620v2/i7-4820K* is basically an i7-3770 but with quad channel memory support, more PCIe lanes and slightly more cache. Xeon E5-2667v2 would be a lot better since it has 8c/16t and has almost identical clockspeeds, meaning it's about twice as fast when it comes to multi-core performance. Single core performance is pretty much identical since the 2667v2 only has 100MHz higher single-core boost (4GHz vs 3.9GHz).
*The E5-1620v2 is actually the same as the i7-4820K for the same platform but has locked multiplier and ECC support. Don't let the 4th gen sounding name fool you, it's actually Ivy Bridge (3rd gen).

If you buy a PC with Windows preinstalled you want it working properly the first time it boots. No matter if it's cheap or expensive. Not recommended.

I bought this same computer for my daughter early in the pandemic for about $500 to play Minecraft on. She also plays one of the Star Wars games. It works great with the on-board graphics for those games. I've been thinking about adding an older GPU like this to it to give her more gaming options (though she really hasn't needed it yet) so I was glad to see this video to show what kind of performance it might achieve. Thank you!

Putting a pc that you got online right after a Jawa sponsorship will make people think that the pc was from Jawa. Those particular packing peanuts are not only fully biodegradable, but they are indeed edible. Not even joking. They are made from wheat and corn starch. They were originally made to be a new snack, but they aren't crisp or crunchy. They made a new plan. Unflavored, they have no taste, but they immediately dissolve on the tongue and just disappear.
