Something that is notable, and perhaps in several Joel & Ethan Coen films (that goes back to their days working with Sam Raimi) are their nods to those earlier/collaborative projects. This one reminded me of "Crimewave", especially the early scenes with Pedro Pascal and then there is a nod to "Evil Dead 2"...maybe it's just me, but I found those touches to be a delight :-)!
This is an awesome catch! The opening scene definitely had a crimewave vibe. Thanks for chiming in!
Kirk’s car noises are the beginning of the end for our partnership
Somehow that was just the right amount of cringe to be funny

The Nice Guys is far superior to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Both great movies for sure! One of us has Once Upon a Time in Hollywood in his top 4 and the other has The Nice Guys in his top 4.
