MLB The Show 24 is a video game based on Major League Baseball developed by San Diego Studio and published by MLB Advanced Media and Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released on March 19, 2024, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.[1][2][3] It is the nineteenth entry in the MLB: The Show game series and features Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays on its cover.[4]
For the fourth consecutive year, the Xbox versions of the game are available for Xbox Game Pass subscribers at no additional cost.
Alex Miniak returns as public address commentator, with Jon Sciambi and Chris Singleton return as play-by-play commentators. Dan O'Dowd and Sarah Langs serve as commentators in Road to the Show mode.
For the first time in baseball video game history, the game includes a career mode with female players, dubbed Road to the Show: Women Pave Their Way.[5]
Storylines: The Negro Leagues returns in MLB The Show 24, now including Buck Leonard, Josh Gibson, Hank Aaron, and Toni Stone at launch, with more to be added later on.[6] A separate Storylines mode will also be dedicated to Derek Jeter's career

This video is nice, but some things it did not teach me as a beginner
1. How to pitch pinpoint (or how any pitching system works, pros/cons, overview, etc). The game does a terrible job of trying to teach you, and it feels like secret knowledge when it shouldn't be.
2. How to hit well. The PCI stuff and camera stuff is all good and well, but even when I'm barreling the ball I feel like I'm lining out or flying out often.
3. How to do some of the things described in the video (sliding away from the bag, for example). You explained in the pinned comment which is great, but just something I noticed while watching that was a little frustrating.
These all feel like things that should be in a "beginner tips" video. Don't assume that people that are beginners have played games in the series before. That's why we're beginners. I haven't played an MLB game since 2k11, and none of that knowledge is helping me anymore obviously. This video is a good step towards getting rid of the "gatekeepy" nature of sports gamers, but there's some improvements to be made as well.
Well put. He has the knowledge but formatted the script wrong. I agree with all your points here as I’m trying to get into baseball this year and playing mlb the show really helps. I understand the gist of what he’s saying as I’m a gaming vet, I can basically just tell what he means by sliding off the bag without actually saying the prompts.

@Kevin-bc2bu I found the problem, I switched it to Buttons and took away that slow motion and now I can throw to correct base.
