      Trucks make up 70 something percent of vehicles sold last year. They sure are in demand. But 65k for a midsize with a 4 cylinder, no front locker, and nothing special when there are better equipped trucks that are mire capable for 10-20k less. Most people want midsize for off road. And as an off road truck these both are equivalent to a 29k trailboss or a 42k ford fx4 ranger. They are no where near a raptor or a zr2 let alone a bison or at4x aev. All of witch are cheaper.

      @is6566 These are the confirmed prices. Honestly it's cheaper then what I thought it was going to be and I've seen a lot of people saying it was going to be over 70k.

    Toyota executives are smoking glass lol. 65k min MSRP + stealership addons + markups ($2-10k) + APR% today..
    All for what, a Mexican built truck that's a 4cyl. with a Turbo that's loaded with gadgets. Good joke.

    • @monkeyhunkeytunkey
      @monkeyhunkeytunkey Před měsícem +1

      Pricing is everything. If the newest generation of Tacoma was a V6 NA, built in Japan and had more options to remove electronics it still would be too much even at 65K. Today we're paying the price of a 3/4T truck pre-pandemic and what we get is a 1/4T truck. Don't believe me? Look it up yourself, I used car.usanews 'Best 2019 Full Size Pickup Trucks' and looked at their pricing.
      When you factor in inflation, cost of living increase, MSRP increase, markups, taxes, increased APR what exactly are you getting in return?
      For Tacoma's in 2023 we went from a starting MSRP of:
      SR 2023: $30,095 vs 2024: $32,995 | $2,900 increase or 9.63615%
      SR5 2023: $31,885 vs 2024: $37,695 | $5,810 increase or 18.2217%
      TRD Sport 2023: $37,005 vs 2024: $40,895 | $3,890 increase or 10.5121%
      TRD Off Road 2023: $38,285 vs 2024: $43,295 | $5,010 increase or 13.0861%
      Limited 2023: $42,520 vs 2024: $53,595 | $11,075 increase or 26.0466%
      TRD Pro 2023: $49,530 vs 2024: $65,395 | $15,865 increase or 32.0311% (lol)
      Here's the pricing before the pandemic:
      SR 2019: $26,970 vs 2024: $32,995 | $6,025 increase or 22.3396%
      SR5 2019: $28,745 vs 2024: $37,695 | $8,950 increase or 31.1358%
      TRD Sport 2019: $33,665 vs 2024: $40,895 | $7,230 increase or 21.4763%
      TRD Off Road 2019: $34,920 vs 2024: $43,295 | $8,375 increase or 23.9834%
      Limited 2019: $38,910 vs 2024: $53,595 | $14,685 increase or 37.7409%
      TRD Pro 2019: $44,080 vs 2024: $65,395 | $21,315 increase or 48.3553% (lmao)
      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
      A single dollar in 2019 is worth $1.22 today. Did your wages increase 22%? Did your salary increase enough to accommodate what I said before; inflation, cost of living increase, MSRP increase, markups, taxes, increased APR?
      Toyota, you're asking for way too much. 32% increase from a 23 to 24 TRD Pro, really or 48.35% increase compared to a 2019 vs 2024. I don't know about you but do you feel you're getting 32% more out of your truck from the prior year, 32% more reliability, performance or fuel savings? Because lets face it this is why they're going down the 4cyl route + Turbo is to appease the EPA.
      Even if you take into account the most modest iteration, SR. From 23 to 24, there was a 9.63% increase in MSRP or 22.33% when comparing to a 2019.
      We're simply just talking MSRP too, not to mention the markups that dealerships are charging, anywhere from $1,500 to $10,000+. On top of that, they moved their manufacturing down to Mexico to pay workers pennies on the dollar compared to the States and get to reduce costs of not having to manufacture V6's. Simply ridiculous. The country is broke man, people don't have money anymore. Before you could argue if people were living beyond their means and a lot were but now we aren't even giving an option of overspending beyond our means, the car markets simply dictate that right out the gate. I will drive my paid off Toyota into the ground before I give these vultures another dollar.

    Toyota priced these in the same range as the new Ram RHO! The ram is far superior in every way. Basically, it's a TRX with 200 less hp and toyota thinks their tacomas are worth just as much? Toyota only cares about screwing their customers. Ill never buy any of their cars. I dont care about their reliability. Reliability doesnt really matter as much if you only keep a vehicle 5 or 6 years and trade it for a new one.

    I'll gladly keep my 2023 taco trd pro now we know the ridiculousness on the pricing with ALL of the trims..This makes me sick and people are still gonna pay these stupid prices that will just enable Toyota to keep over pricing everything. That ZR2 is already looking mighty fine for 20k less and better than a trail hunter. Ive been loyal to Toyota for yrs but we're gonna be breaking up real soon because of this greedy bs.

      @@kendramckenna7312 Yep. I could buy a truck with front and rear lockers and way more capability in every single catagory of capability (payload, tow, offroad, etc) in any size truck. Midsize, full size or hd truck for less than that.

    Apparently the US market is the lowest profit for Toyota. My theory is they intentionally trying to price themselves out of the use market and leave maybe a couple of models just to have a presence. Toyota makes way better vehicles and way better profit in different parts of the world.

  • @MrNismopro
    @MrNismopro Před měsícem +1

    Americans will still purchase the truck, despite all of these videos. They’ll will get a HELOC on their homes to finance these trucks. They don’t care what these trucks cost. In fact, Toyota screwed up! They should’ve put these trucks at $80k, because the Toyota followers hold the TRD product up to the prices of Ford Raptor and RAM TRX lineups. People have lost their minds, and there are millions of “Lost Their Minds People”. LTMP.🤦🏻‍♂️
