dimmed for movie release due to epilpeis laws, which is why that clip is dimmed. it's from the movie cut.
The dimming should be removed in the Blu-ray, you may mixed up the two footage.
MF's actually went back and edited the cellphone to be modern. Now that is some detail.

thank god they redid the explanation of sukuna's slashes scene, its way more accurate to the manga the way the slashes disinegrate the phone (dismantle) and the people (cleave)

Yea I liked how it looked different especially since its now known that the fire arrow in his domain is a hell of a lot more powerful than the regular one used against jogo.
I think blu ray is better because there is so much smoke and vapour due to heat. In TV that detail is missing
What i like is that even though many new scenes were added, the run time is the same. Instead of using the ending song to end the episode, they used "Specials" to roll the credits so it makes it feel like it is all over now.
I like how initially Mahoraga was tinted red from the flames in the tv version, and how during the blast of fire everything was much brighter in the tv version

Honestly in some parts blu rey was better. But in general I think this is a great proof of why animators must be given more time to animate such complex scenes, because I can't even imagine how it was supposed to be animated if it was me.

The explosions after the "fuga" looked like they're just drawn over the buildings in tv, also the flame arrow is smoother too rather than frames fading into each other

While i like how in the anime version, they showed the effects of malevolent shrine closer to the idea of slashes on the area of effect, i say the tv version of 'Fuga' did better. Reason being the use of the darker tones gave far more of that demonic feel that Sukuna is infamous for.
There's one or two shots I actually kinda prefer on the TV version
The Domain Expansion scene is way better here.

It kinda make sense, sukuna’s flame heats up objects that’s even outside the range of his shrine, so the very center is probably where it’s the hottest heating up the ground to white hot
I agreed, the menacing red background is for stylize compare to the mostly realistic scenery that we have in the blu-ray. Also when Sukuna use fuga in the original, the way the scene stutter make it feels like the world's frame rate just tanks because it's trying to process the destruction that sukuna about to unlease in shibuya.

I kinda like the raw and choppiness of the TV version, although the blu-ray version feels more detailed. The blu-ray looks like a 3D animation sometime, and some fight scenes feels awkward, like when Sukuna pointing his finger toward Makora, and Makora just doing some kind of happy dance in front of him.

Honestly I don't see much difference between 30% completed episode and blu ray version keeping aside 20 sec of more animation . Size continuity of mahoraga is bad in both. Some scenes were so bad , they looked like they were drawn by a toddler. Some frames had missing outlines and b&w.
Animation experts will keep saying this over and over, it does not look like itself been drawn by a toddler, it's a stylistic choice, not everything in anime needs to be heavily detailed, if you don't like it, that's fine, but don't claim that the scenes are bad, bc they aren't, the fact that you say "missing outlines" tells me that you're unaware of how things work, again, they're purely a stylistic choice, not "missing"

Animation isn't about detail and shading, it's about fluidity and movement, this is a team of animators that priotize movement over detail, the actual Animation has some of the highest peaks out of any TV anime.
Those are less important in terms of fights since more detail=Longer scene so people can catch this details less detail means more upfront action

it is the same principle with makora's scene tanking sukuna's domain. it is easier for them to animate like that for the intensive but small actions around the subject. it's convenience disguised as style. i can totally see how it can be similar to AI tho coz AI have lots of extrapolation errors while this kind of animation has human error on purpose. they will have similarities@@miiikudo3451

This is to show the extent to how powerful Sukuna is, you can also see it as foreshadowing. Since the beginning we were told Sukuna was dangerous but were never really shown and this fight was exactly that, to flex Sukuna as a major threat but also advancing plot quite a bit. As it was, we had zero knowledge of his abilities and techniques prior to this fight, this fight revealed more of him, of course it was exciting, again in foreshadowed Sukuna fight against Gojo with Maho

This style is called sakuga where surface details are lessened to increase movement details, like the shaking lines when an object is moving quickly, etc.
