  • Some Stedman on these splendid, gutsy bells cast by Mears & Stainbank of the Whitechapel Bell Foundry in 1929-30. the tenor is 12-0-4 in G. #bellringing #churchbells #cambridgeshire

      @@timmeh1507 Yes, but it was mostly later on (post-war), and if I’m not mistaken at the point these were cast it was shortly after they’d finally got the hang of tuning!

      @@Ringer_Fran I suppose a lot of their really famous rings are postwar but some of their early harmonically tuned bells are absolutely superb. Fenham, Stoulton, St David's Cathedral...

    Lovely bells, the 3rd sounds a bit off though. Too flat.
