这是整出戏最爱的一折，单独剪辑出来并加了英文字幕，用的是张光前先生的译本。记得施夏明说过他一开始不是很认同淳于棼这个角色，可到演完他非常喜欢这个人物设定，因为淳在昆曲剧目的小生角色里最接近现实生活的“人”。瑶芳公主殷殷叮嘱里，一声声悠长的“呵”，含着多少爱恋，不舍和忧虑，可惜淳于棼都辜负了。但就像施夏明一样，观者不忍责怪淳：盈泪盟誓和忘情放纵都是他的“本真”，从头至尾他都是真心真意，就像最后为忍着剧痛为槐安国燃指超度升天。

A Dream under the Southern Bough is the product of Tang Xianzu's sober introspection and recollection of his ruined political ambitions and ideals after all the frustrations of his political career. It has the same powerful social impact as his earlier masterpiece The Peony Pavilion, but takes a different form of expression.
The excerpt is my favourite scene: the princess is dying, and she's worried about her husband's future life and political career and asks him to be loyal to their love and also "learn to handle relations" "stick to integrity". He is so touched that he promises everything. But what an irony&pity that he forgot all that he said after her death.

男主、女主之唱、作，演繹出互尊互敬、纏綿悱惻、生離死別、重恩重情之伉儷情深，唱、作中充分展現之柔美、哀淒、酸楚之悲傷氣氛，濃烈的令人屏息，動人心弦、催人淚下！觀看近百遍，遍遍皆如此感動，這般難遏內心悽楚之情。二人實是昆曲界最受祖師爺青睞、最具天分的外貌、才藝兼備至極致、幾無人能出其右的演員，更是百年難遇之奇才！

每每看荊柯夢這段視頻，滿心感染濃濃的深情蜜意下的生離死別，總難忍傷悲而淚下不已，男主及女主兩人的唱、唸、作所表現出的淋漓盡致是如此深刻人心、如此憾動人心，怎不令人深慟而生同掬悽淒之淚啊！太感人、太動人了！
