Suranne responding in very Anne manner, very reassuringly (but ever so slightly condescendingly) to Sophie as if she were Ann, is exactly the kind of vibe that I'm here for. So in character!
And Ann, not entirely sure what she did would go well...
Anyone else just love Surannes voice? Its so crisp and the way she has this little thing with pronunciation. Just gorgeois.
Both adorable, clever, sweet, talented beyond words. Love Rundle's laughter. I wonder when all is said and done, if they will come even close to understanding their amazing impact in their roles in GJack. A stunning telling and performance of the very real Lister & Walker. Lister & Walker are flipping with joy somewhere!

If you want an actress that takes all your attention when she is on the screen and is effortlessly charming and magnetic you get Suranne Jones. I first saw her in a Dr Who episode and I never forgot the actress after that, I knew she would be back. Very few people can just command your attention the way that she does.

When I first heard about Anne Lister I was intrigued. I did some research on her and was amazed at the intelligence and wit she possessed! Brave and charming to boot! Then I watched the show and fell head over heels in love with our Gentlemen Jack! Now I am not a lesbian and I don't judge other's for who they love. I think my obsession with Anne has more to do with her strength and passion. I can't wait to see season 2 and hear that jaunty tune! ❤️

I have always LOVED strong women! Xena The Warrior Princess is my other hero! She taught me that a woman can be rough and strong. Anne Lister is my newest hero. Thanks again and big hugs!!!!

Iam old and experienced enough to know Iam straight. But I LOVE GJ. I think it is because she behaves as I wish straight men would. She do have all the traditional male characteristics. She is a left brained person, she like economy, politics and science. She fights and is adventurous. And she cares/leads for the people around her in the same way a man does. BUT she also cries when dumped. She dont just brush it of and call her X a psycho, as men do... She is extremely reliable when Ann is sick, she is there for Ann even if she finds it boring and Ann ridiculous and week. Statistically men sheets and leave in the same situation. GJ is the perfect partner.

Truly hope there is more of these two on our screens. Must also mention how wonderful to hear Miss Walker say that she didn't know how to say no! to the advances of the reverent, not so reverent, I think she speaks for many a women even in todays society , if my clinical work is anything to go by. Thank you Ann Lister for reaching out from beyond the grave to highlight this issue.

“Canceled” implies a sort of mass communication and volatility of public opinion that did not exist then. Anne might have been unpopular with some locally but apparently made headway in elite international society, presumably for her brilliance and eccentricity. I guess the equivalent of being canceled would be not being visited or received in “society,” but that never happened.
