  • In this video, I analyze the swing of Chris Morel. He's said to be 145 pounds, which would make him one of today's pound for pound best. I just can't see how he's anywhere close to that.

Your swing instruction is clearly correct. After drowning in a sea of vague, often contradictory, over complicated instruction for many years I became very frustrated. After coming across your theory there was an “ah ha” moment. It’s so intuitive and logical.
Your theory is like when you hide an egg for a kid to find at Easter. You know so clearly the answer “or location” of the egg but you watch as the kids stumble around clumbsily looking in places where there is nothing to be found. All these other instructors latch on to these places where’s there’s nothing to be found and preach it as gospel.
Your message will spread. It’s too good to fail. Keep at it Jaime. Long time watcher and learner but don’t comment oftenđŸ‘đŸ»

When you said whys his shirt off, i almost wet myself. Your comedic timing is underated. Then, even better, I've got 8 of you at the club... I'm absolutely crying. It's so true. But wow, what a swing. Im wondering which one of these hitting gurus is gonna be the one to ruin him.

I've just started watching your videos after watching all the other swing mechanic teachings out there and I'm getting this front arm dominance thing.
I play rec ball but I'm also an avid golfer and the difference I'm seeing is that your swing is the swing that golf instruction has come to and that's use less hands and have less of an flipping hands swing because it's harder to time and your results vary much more and in golf as a RH golfer you absolutely cannot let your right side dominate, you let's the club drop from the inside and use body rotation to generate power while like you also say your hands go fir the ride.
I believe even in baseball, this would help you be much more consistent not having to perfectly time up your wrists and hands flipping at the ball at contact as much. I will also add that in golf the most critical moment is also the moment you go from the backswing to the downswing and you do not let your right side take over at this point because you will lose power and control.
This really makes sense, and it's what I'm seeing watching the swings you show of Griffey and other great consistent hitters.

It’s amazing, the big flaw is exactly what swings need to be doing.
When I started watching this channel,
It was video and my own innate understanding of what feels right that sold me on your method.
We can argue what “feels” right, even though I believe your movements do feel right.
An open minded honest person can’t argue with great hitter after great hitter on film.
It actually made me understand why my swing felt so frustrated at times.
15 was when I got exposed to hitting instruction.
Between hitting instructors, college coaches, etc, my swing was frustrated about half the time

A lot of teachings are really emphasizing wrist snap for power especially in slow pitch because there's no pitch velocity so they're forcing the hands and knob at the ball and what im seeing with your swing is that with all the main muscles leading the way with a front arm dominance you should naturally get a wrist snap but a much more powerful consistent snap.
In golf most power comes from your front leg posting up firing the hips the same as in baseball. theres definitely a lot of the same factors if you watch both closely.
Anyway, if the top golf instructors who hit a smaller still ball and small club head which has to be far more precise obviously are teaching this makes sense that this is the right way.

As a kid playing sand lot and Wiffle Ball in the late 1960’s early to mid 1970’s we used to play our major league team’s lineup. Being a right handed batter naturally I would switch over to left handed and with a little work ( I used a broom stick ) using my bottom hand only, which was my dominate arm. I had literally no problem afterwards. In Wiffle Ball everyone to this day thinks I was naturally Left Handed. Lead arm was the key. Forty Years later now as a hitting instructor I flipped 4 boys from Right to Left Handed and they each went on to be successful in HS and College. We literally started over. We used a fungoe bat. Once we achieved balance, they took off!

In a may 2022 article, written about him when the cubs were about to call him up, it talks about his weight being listed at 145 when he joined the minors.. It said he grew about 2 inches and added about 35 lbs of muscle since then. So he is probably around 180lbs.

The front arm swing is the simplest to explain to a kid and works. Like in his swing like Griffey book he talks about coaches screwing most kids natural swing up. I did it to own kid and he was rolling over and not really driving the ball hard. Back to the basics and he’s on now and looking great. Thank you sir.

This is probably why I always heard switch hitters have more power on there other side as a kid. It makes sense since your strong arm is now the lead arm?

You are right to be dubious about his listed weight. I'm 5'11" and used to be 148 lbs. and he's not anywhere near 145. If you want to get a sense of that kind of body mass in a 5'11" man, you need to look at elite marathoners.

Can you do Ichiro? Here's a link to his old swings in the npb, imo one of the best example of throw right hits left czcams.com/video/v9RCle6-OPo/video.html
