  • The Beneteau name is 140 years old this year. So whenever I get an opportunity to jump on these boats I feel that these guys have a very deep understanding on how the people of today like to live and enjoy themselves on the water. It seems that their designs often cater to so many of us at all different stages along your boat life and it looks to me as if that attention to design has been a big part of what's kept them in business for longer than AUstralia has been a country.
    The GT41 in my opinion is a visable improvement to her replacement the GT40 in multiple ways. The operational side and livability of this boat seem to be improving with time and I can see some of you using a boat like this as your 'work from home' option as many people progress into a digital life.
    For the time poor person who always strives to get the most out of your day then this is a boat that will help you achieve that. She's not a long distance cruiser or an ocean weapon. She's a stylish, fast all rounder that will cater exceptionally well to day boating and long weekends on the water with the occasional week long holiday.
    If that sounds like you then this video will be worth your while watching.
    Please enjoy,
    Dan Jones

    G'day, Dan. You've always been helpful in pointing out the cleverness of the Beneteau group's designs. And as here, you've also made the point that some boats are - somewhat at least - "time machines", transporting folks to new destinations & experiences easily and relatively quickly. This seems to be another one of those boats.

      Gday Jack! Look forward to the update on your next boat? Yeah I reckon that’s a big part of the excitement for a style of boat like this. Provided you are the type of person that wants to stay onboard you’ll get value from it

    They build a hell of a boat, and there design team is awesome 😎💯. Imagine if it had Quad 600 OBs?

      Wow that would be crazy haha… I reckon she’d go just fine with a pair of Mercury V10 400’s on the back. Actually that would be a very sensible option as you could get a better toy garage and shallow water access… check out the GT36 with outboards for inspiration

      @@BoatLife_DansBoatLife Love any Boats, my dad built Mach I and Envision Boats in Monmouth Illinois for 36 years. Mid Sixties to 1996. Built a lot of low profile go fast and Mach I was more of a family boat from 14-29. Envision were 24-37 go fast. Dad was great friends with Reggie Fountain back in the day. You're explanations and testing are great, really enjoy your videos. Thanks Brian Felt

    Would be nice to compare this with the new Bavaria SR41 HT.

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  Před 7 měsíci

      Yes that’s a good comparison. I haven’t seen much happening with Bavaria in Aus lately so would need to get my hands on a boat. I know them very well as I sold Bavaria Yachts 20yrs ago and been to their factory in Germany and everything

    Beautiful. But would you buy one of these over a five year old Riviera SUV?

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Depends on the region of the world i'm in, the driving experience I desire, and my mission for the boat. A GT41 feels a lot different at the helm compared to a SUV so depending on what you're looking for you would want to consider a few of the variables. Also brand recognition and therefore re-sale will be better for Riv in some parts of the world and better for Beneteau in others...

    Around 14:30 it looks like the reading lamp is touching the pillow...; I guess it's only LED but seems risky still..! 🙄

      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  Před 7 měsíci

      Good spotting! You make a great point actually. Yes these were LED so I wasn’t worried but it absolutely would cause a fire if it was one of those old fashioned hot lights. I might start mentioning that now you made me think of it. Thanks 🙏

      So this boat is designed for short high speed runs of as little as a few miles to up for a few hundred miles. It’s best used in one geographic location to explore on weekends and have little holidays. For crossing oceans you are better served by trawlers and also sailing yachts
