- Incorrect translations, missing voices, swapped voice actors, bad syncing and excessive moaning - all of this and more is featured in this extended compilation of international dub fails scattered throughout the Winx Club franchise.
I always enjoyed the dub fail compilations by the icon @tomitos117 and it seems everyone else does too, so I'm back with another one!! It was definitely my favourite video concept when I was young, since it's very entertaining to look for errors in "professional" editing. As someone who edits video and audio frequently, I know how easy it is to skip small details here and there...but some in this video are just painful to watch. We're just here to laugh at them and have a good time!
A few of these were repeated from my previous videos but I wanted to bring them back and commemorate them one last time, especially because not everyone will know of them yet. Most of the new ones were suggested by you guys in the comments of my community post so THANK YOU for your help!!! I only know a handful of languages so it's difficult to know where translation errors may occur in foreign dubs! If you know of any fails in your own language for this season, definitely let me know in the comments because I'd be super interested in knowing them :)

Finally someone pointed out blooms french scream when Tecna sacrificed herself. Girl ended Mariah Carey’s career.
Nick Season 3 was so rushed. There was also 2 other mistakes one being in episode 23 where Sky and Brandon’s voices get switched and also in episode 20 where Amore says something like “I wish bloom would love me a little more” even though Stella’s her bonded pixie
French voice actors love to scream and moan a lot idk why. And especially how Tecna said ''What'' in 1x11 💀

All of these dub fails are kinda interesting. I'll never understand the choice of calling both Charmix and Enchantix "Encantrix" but I'm here for it.

I assume Charmix was renamed Encantrix because the word “charmed” directly translates to “encantado” in Spanish. Eventually, Enchantix came along and went by the same name for similar reasons, since “encantado” also means “enchanted” in Spanish. This likely occurred due to lack of foresight within the company dubbing the show in Latin Spanish.

fun fact: in the brazilian dub of winx club, roxy's voice actress is the one singing all the songs from season 4-7 (+ season 8 butterflix), so in season 4, everytime musa sang in one of the concerts, it was technically roxy singing for her

I asked Ekaterina Semenova (va russian stella) about the groans in the public dubbing, to which they answered: “well, we just did our job, they moan in English like that” but in general I grew up on such voice acting and began to pay attention only to this when revising years at 14

The worst part is they are in English 😭I hate when Indian dubs mix Hindi with English. I mean even Thai does it but not a lot compared to the Indian dubs. At least Malayalam is one of these Indian languages that avoid using much English words.

3:50 in Russian CTC dub they call themselves "volshebnitsy" since season 1 till season 8, they scream "volshebnitsy vinks" instead of "magic winx" n it means good/kind magicians. So technically she is volshebnitsa

Also in Polish they are „czarodziejki”, which in Polish might be a “fairy”, but in the rest Slavic languages, including my native Bulgarian, it means “a sorceress”. Also this is what we call the TV Series “Charmed” in Bulgaria - “Čarodejki “.

4:30 The moaning comes from the fact we, french people, always put "uh" at the end of our words with vibrations of voice cords to let all the air that's still in our lumbs go out. This is just a high pitch one.

With the Polish TV Movie 3 - "Pani" has lots of different meanings. Here it was used more as a "Ruler", someone who has power over something.
Also there are lots of translation fails in Polish dub of winx from Eurocom (seasons 1-3) and voice swamps in all seasons
My favorite is when stella transforms in 2x21 with "Stella, Magic Winx, Magix"

I'm not exactly sure but i thinks it was one of the 3D Sirenix transformations during Season 5 but if you ever think about making a part 2 Turkish dub of the TV movies are hilarious. They pronounce Daphne's name like "Dafne" and when they transform they say "sihirli kızlar" which translates to "magical girls" 😆

Russian STS also incorrectly translated the dialogue into 2х03 :

In English this roughly translates to:

а, ну и да, совсем забыла про самую первую серию с ляпом прямо в песне с превращением у Стеллы. там вообще нету песни, или даже попытку в неë. просто какое-то зачитывание текста в такт музыке на фоне. пока что это всë, что я смогла вспомнить навскидку.

Those are so epic! For the majority of them I had no idea! Ha ha ha As a Bulgarian, there is a whole dubbed Tynix song in Bulgarian in CZcams, without the powerlines . However there is one moment, when Flora starts to speak and they cut her voice at the middle.
Moreover, can we appreciate the German and French dubs that they did justice for Stella and Aisha’s powers in the Nickelodeon era: Stella is still the Fairy of the Moon and the Sun (this is the exact order they say it) and Aisha is the Fairy of the Fluids, not only to some mere waves…

People has to mix parts of the Bulgarian intro with German, a similar-sounding dub, in order to fully remove the powerlines at one point

It’s the fact that Musa and Tecna’s mouths were animated saying the wrong spells for me
I recently started rewatching the series again in Dutch and there are so many voice-acting mistakes I've never noticed before. Flora mentioning Stella when she is talking about Bloom or there was one line that was spoken by a totally different sounding voice actress, for like one line too. Couldn't they have invited the original VA for that one line? It was like in the last minute they were like 'well darn it, this line sounds horrible but we only have two days left pre-release! Tessa, you speak that line right now!'
Also, Red fountain is called Red Fountain in the Dutch dub too, but sometimes it's suddenly translated to Dutch (Rode Fontein). And don't get me started on the moaning or one of the girls looking into the camera smiling and then going 'huh?'when they could just not make noise lmao. You should also search Layla's dance performance in season 2 (Aisha is called Layla in the early Dutch dubs at least, I'm not sure about the later seasons) she makes so many unnecessary noises. I don't know who came up with that xd.

At 9:17 usually Believix in this dub is translated as "Моќта на Верувањето" (the Power of the Belief) and for some reason the others said that but Bloom said "Believix." Overall Macedonian dubs are full of fails like that, especially double instrumental where you can tiny hear the English version behind the instrumental in some episodes. It's a mess.
I really hope this doesn't get set for kids as the last time...
And there are more fails in the Bulgarian Nick dub as well, like Aisha's line after they got Harmonix (the line "Can't wait to try it underwater") in 5x07 was a bit off-sync and more.
@@WinxAliNelCielo They can watch it in Albanian too since Albanian is also the official language there (25% if the people speak it) ane maybe even Turkish because there is a large Turkish minority there as well. Croatian too since Serbian and Croatian are 99% the same language with slight differences like British and American English.
I mean Macedonian dubs are terrible we know it but at least it's something, despite they barely dub any stuff because they don't even have Cartoon Network, Disney Channel, Nickelodeon. They don't even have McDonalds, KFC, Lidl and etc a.k.a. the most well-know American fast food restaurants and most well-known European supermarkets but Bulgaria and Serbia has them so it shows that they are less developed country when it comes to that.

Haha it was cool seeing the dub fails! I guess it’s inevitable considering how large the series is now, and the people doing the translations probably not being dedicated fans, but a lot of this still raises an eyebrow anyway when some of it _seems_ so simple. 😂
But for those wondering and to be fair to the Chinese one, Flora’s name _would_ be Fuluola! Unlike some languages that can adopt a foreign term (eg how I wrote Fuluola out in full back there), Chinese _has_ to translate or use the closest approximate sounds for certain terms and phrases.
That’s why in Chinese, Starbucks is Xingbake (Shing-bah-kuh) (the “xing” means “star” while “bake” is a sound approximation), McDonald’s is Maidanglao, BMW is Baoma, or Coca-Cola is Kouke Kele (actually one of the best ones out there since it retains the original sound _and_ means “good taste, happy”), but I digress!
Chinese wouldn’t have a simple “Fuh” sound for the “F” in Flora, so “Fu” is its closest approximation, as is “la” for “ra.” Otherwise…they could’ve gone with 花木 (Huamu), which is a _literal_ translation of the _word_ flora and not the _name_ Flora, literally meaning “flowers [and] wood.” 😆
That’s why the other names in Chinese similarly are also similar yet different too-
But I will say the echoing…does indeed constitute as a fail lol. 😂

I have one more for you. On the Latin American dub of s1, one of the earliest Bloom transformations, instead of saying “Bloom Magic Winx” she translates into Spanish saying “Alas Mágicas de Bloom”. The script may have thought she said “WinGs” instead of “WinXs”.

Multiple dubs had problem with this one part in particular.
Be it weird grammar in br pt "As magix winx da Bloom" (the magic winx of bloom)
or new ways to say it like in the Slovenian dub Zazraka winxerka(wonder of winx) instead of kozelne winx(magic winx)
Also german had it wrong for all of Season 1 "magix winx" instead of magic winx🤦♂️

There are many dubbing errors, many because of the use of 4kids episodes for dubbing and many English words came to the dubbing, Valtor in the beginning was called "Baltor", Aisha was called Layla but then they changed to Aisha and in the first seasons left Layla. There are also errors in words exchanged due to the change of dubbing studio, and Bloom's voice actress in the first episodes calling "Torre Nebulosa" (Cloud Tower) "Terra Nebulosa" (Cloud Earth).
