We salvaged an old round wood table with four benches from a neighbor. It was rotten on the top surfaces, and the bottoms that were touching the ground. We replaced the tops of the small benches with fake wood for decks. We trimmed really rough edges on the table and all the bottoms that sit in the grass. The small benches are scattered around the yard to rest when we need it. The large table is used for project work and covered with a vinyl tablecloth for eating. We have lawn chairs for seating. We have had it for 15 yrs past the time they threw it out. We had to add a few screws this year. All set for another decade.
Tina, my doctor told me it was from menopause! Yay!👀 My hips were killing me for weeks, then one morning I got up and my ankles felt strange, like if I took another step I would break my foot. Yes, after a few days I could walk right, but my hips took several weeks… Getting older is not fun, but we can always find the good in knowing.. this too shall pass ❤️
Table turned out great! Nice & sturdy! I hope Karly doesn’t regret her decision to smash the pony once she realizes it’s gone! 😆 That thing is so cute! It’s gonna be a nice party! The kids are getting so big! I have a bench that needs some help - maybe I’ll tackle it!

Question? Why didn't you just get new wood and use the old table as a template to make a whole new picnic table? Then you wouldn't have to worry if the wood was rotten or not.
@@TinaandRobLivingOffTheHill I hope so those support for the seats look like they are beginning to sprint to their last leg and putting on support braces wont stop the spread of rot. The under braces look pretty good but I am not there to see them. But from what you showed of the seat braces looked like my window seal that no matter what I do keeps rotting and I can't afford a new window so I can't take out the old broken down air conditioner either or I would have no protection from winter winds. All I can do is keep filling it with expanding foam.
You guys are such hardworkers. You work full time and it's always 100+degrees there and you do outdoor stuff. I don't know how you do it! I am exhausted just from my regular job alone🤣

I love that you refurbished the table. It looks so nice. Tina, how do you stay so tiny? Meant as a compliment because as women get older most of use tend to put on so much weight. At 76, I am a size 10, but I really have to watch everything I eat. When I was younger, I could eat EVERYTHING. I never liked or did any gym or exercise. Love Tony Soprano. ❤❤❤❤❤

Love that you do projects together. Take a big box fan and plug it in outside by you it helps keep you cooler when it's so hot. Table looks great

Well, most of it is new, but the legs were actually in pretty good shape. We thought when we started the project, I think it’ll last another 10 years.
