  • Berserker has a pretty fun damage-focused class design, which has only gotten more potential for flashy performance throughout the series. I'd like to demonstrate how units can be both entertaining and high performing, making use of modern FE's systems to push Berserker's strengths to their limits.
    Let me know what experiences you have with Berserkers! I know there's a lot of potential for the concept of "big damage output", and I'd love to hear how other players have applied it to their playthroughs.

    I way prefer fun builds compared to optimized- it’s just so boring to see the same classes over and over again because of what’s meta in each game

    Really cool builds! I've always been a fan of the big damage/crit classes but don't have _too much_ experience setting them up in some of the newer games, so seeing all the different ways you can make those sorts of builds work (and doing so effectively at that) with proper planning was pretty neat. The idea of Engage Berserkers' lower defense cap being a potential boon for setting up things like Reprisal+ and aggroing more enemies on maddening in particular was an interesting observation, especially since lower caps typically only carry negative associations (like Berserkers' lower Dex cap).
    As far as setting up similar builds in the earlier games goes, while it is true that you're generally much more limited in what options you have at your disposal to boost hit/crit/damage, there are still _some_ things you can do to capitalize on Berserkers' strengths and make them a bit stronger, although the builds tend to be a bit more scuffed and/or tedious to set up. With FE8 Ross for example, if you're willing to grind out supports you can get him an extra 5 Atk and 25 hit/crit with an A & B support with Garcia and Ewan, which can help him much more reliably reach the funny big damage numbers and OHKO stuff. Thankfully, similar setups in the Tellius games are much less tedious since you can have Berserkers/Reavers go crazy by just giving them Wrath+Resolve and the much more easily-attainable Atk/Hit boosting supports. So while it's often more difficult to set things up in some of the older games, there's still quite a bit of potential for fun/strong builds.

      @queenlyarts  Před 4 měsíci +2

      Thanks! I hadn't considered supports for GBA/Tellius games, maybe because I was thinking of Engage where supports don't boost damage, and Fates where the standout benefit of supports is reclassing. That makes sense though, and if I can ever get over my aversion to support grinding, I'll totally be getting Ross max supports ASAP. I imagine the hit boosting is even more impactful in cases like that, since I remember axes having particularly low hit in the GBA games and no other real way to get boosts.

    2:42 YES AZURA KEATON WINN!! I went on a huge bend looking over Keatons best luck builds and this one stuck out to me because of it giving us Furry Shigure XD, as well as the fact that due to inheritance rules, this is one of the rare cases where Azura can pass down skills from a class Shigure won’t have access to! Since he’ll get Wolfskin & she’ll get fighter
    Because of this you could pass down Rally Str on Azura & Rally Skill from Laslow friendship Keaton, or Sol from Azura & Strong Repost from Keaton (Laslow A+) to get a slightly better combat unit
    Back to Keaton, Kinshi knight is best if you can get his bow rank to B for the castle drop Anna’s Bow for the +5 luck on equipt, it is a “silver” weapon though so better to have him support the first few turns (he gets Rally Str & Spd +skill with Laslow A+ so it’s not the worst idea)
    I’m just so happy to see this idea fleshed out in a place I wasn’t expecting!! Very excited to see the rest mate!! X3c!!
    Also if you wanna know, Keatons best Luck build in my opinion is Lordstar for the 55% growth & 40 luck cap, Kinshi knight + Anna’s bow only hits 39, also imo Kinshi knight Mozu is Keatons best backpack for the +4 luck & +1 move, with Skl/spd bonuses, though a generic Basara give +5 luck flat, Hytaka can promote into Basara can’t he 🤔? 😏 (you could also make Maid Mozu to also get +5 luck but shhh XD)

    • @queenlyarts
      @queenlyarts  Před 4 měsíci +3

      Haha the luck stacking Keaton build sounds awesome, it took me a moment to realize it's for the sake of proccing his personal skill. I definitely could have done more with his Sky Knight access, like Rally stacking, but I think being an Air Superiority Falcon Knight killer was amusing enough for me. I really would like to try Wolfskin/Kitsune Shigure/Kana some day though. Kana at least starts with some stone rank, but Shigure having to go through a full training arc could be fun in its own way.
      As for Thief Alfred, that's also something I want to try! I've seen a friend using it, and I do remember his low Build/Speed being a bit rough for doubling on Maddening. I also know his personal doesn't exactly make him the strongest unit, but it at least helps close the gap between him and someone like Amber, and gives him a legitimate lead against some units like Yunaka.

    • @drew_gon1617
      @drew_gon1617 Před 4 měsíci

      @@queenlyarts hehe, yeah I should’ve mentioned it’s about his personal, resource grinding is a serious job, especially if you’re not castle hopping and trying to recruit a ton of prisoners 🤧😆
      The build you went with is still amusing I’ll give XD, It was still one of his better luck options~
      I’m allergic to double permanent weakness, so beast/Kana sounds like a curse to me every time I hear it (though I am curious if the beast stone triggers their personal 🤔)
      Wolfskin Shigure does sound tough, I weapon rank grind so the only real challenge for me is to get him before he gets the Offspring seal & reclass him to Wolfskin asap, I am not good at support grinding, rip
      Fun fact though, if you do pass down Sol & Strong repost, you can reclass Shigure into a butler for dagger access, & with odd fang’s +4 damage (& Grizzly wound) you’ll have one of the *weirdest* Sol master ninja builds ever XD
      As for Thief Alfred, yeah his personal makes him do alright damage, tho mine had a constant 15 crit rate & I was lucky to get the food dagger from the well, it’s on par with steel but engraving an emblem is DIRT cheep!!! 10 fragments!! Barely even a dent! XD
      How he worked for me was that he just never really died, he always had a good enough avoid to attract enemies, and he could consistently poison to allow others to snowball, he was a support unit and I liked it
      I have been tempted to try this build on Alcrest or Etie cause their personals are “similar”, Chloe too tbh, Etie would be expensive and painful though ☠️, but Alcrest getting the +3 Str boost until the start of the next player phase I think? You could probably make him defensive + evasive and put him on the front lines with someone else so they can support each other, Chloe’s great for the true damage with poison, that’s why I tried thief Boucheron, a bit painful & clunky, but dang did he make some openings for everyone else (would not recommend though, I only made a thief to get him to level 21 and second seal over master seal (I wanted Mage knight bouchon using Soren’s *bond* ring from Ike for brave attacking with Wind, it was a bit of a grind but the theory crafting was fun))
      So yeah, if you wanna use someone other than Alfred since you just did him, Alcrest would be my recommendation! XD
      Thank you, if you read this far, for allowing me to ramble XD, take care I’m excited to see what you make next!!!! 🥳👏🎉✨

    Re: azura - sadly friendship with corrin just grants corrin sky knight, it doesn’t grant azura corrins class.
    You can still get azura to fighter class by ch14 with fighter!m!corrin tho. V interesting to get tomebreaker from Elise friendship though - you can use them as a great duo with wyvern!elise.

    • @queenlyarts
      @queenlyarts  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Interesting. None of the posts/documentation on reclasses that I read pointed to units not getting classes from Friendship with Corrin, but I suppose that makes sense. If that were the case, half of the cast would get access to Corrin's talent, which does sound pretty crazy. But yeah, the main point is that Azura can get access to Fighter from Corrin in some way, which will still be faster than Arthur and Keaton because of the fast support.
      I don't actually suspect Tomebreaker would do much for Azura, considering how late she'd get it. Still, I'd be interested to see if it would let her face 0 hit from the Sorcerors in Ch 26 to slowly but surely take them out with the Dual Club.

    • @notanobviouschoice
      @notanobviouschoice Před 4 měsíci

      There’s another bonus to doing it via corrin - supportive adds a LOT of bulk via -2damage taken and you can rig the support bonuses via boon/bane.
      +str-mag corrin in wyvern lord gives effectively 7 str and 7 def alongside movement.
      Corrin is *nutty*

    • @queenlyarts
      @queenlyarts  Před 4 měsíci +1

      Yeah, Corrin helps a lot as a pair-up partner. I'm realizing now though that if Azura can't get Fighter from friendship, then she has to get it from an S support. Meaning she can't actually get both Fighter and Samurai for Berserker OHKO Vantage sweeping. You could at least go Master of Arms/Dread Fighter, but a bit unfortunate that we can't actually get it working in Berserker.

      Ooh, despite having considered what Nyx could make use of from her Effie friendship, Weary Fighter Nos tanking never crossed my mind. I do think she might already be fast enough to just avoid getting doubled naturally, but it could perhaps help against some of the speedier late game enemies.

      Now you need to get 10 kills with 12 actions. How does everyone else have enough movement? Stride helps but it can only do so much. some of the ten elites are more than 20 spaces away. What are the other two actions that aren't dance?

    • @rattyxoxo7397
      @rattyxoxo7397 Před 4 měsíci +4

      @@implying8903Zoran has a video demonstration where he kills all 10 elites and Nemesis on turn 1, but the general idea is that you have 12 units, and DotG exchanges 1 action for +4, so that’s a net of +3 = 15 total actions. killing all the elites destroys Nemesis’ shield, so you need 11 actions to kill each of the Elites + Nemesis, leaving 4 utility actions for movement, which are Warp, Rescue, Stride and a Smite. The Dancer and DotG user also help with movement at no net turn cost.
