If my Mother is looking down from Heaven, she would be so pleased, that her youngest daughter is listening to this. All of her kids attend ORB, but only one has joined. She was not concerned for our accompolishments, it was our salvation, she wanted for us from the bottom of her heart.

Oh I loved this!! I was baptised in a local creek-now they do it inside the church-somehow seems so much more moving when it's outdoors. Thank you for posting this!

Lord, how I love this sound. This touches me so very much. I just love the old regular babtist so much, they really seem to live a closer life to that Bible.

@kauffmankathryn yep. that's it. my great grandparents lived about two miles down the road. our family cemetary is there. we moved about 2 hrs away from knott when i was four, but always went when we visited. that is where her funerals were too. so this singing brings back good memories, but haunting ones also.

I was raised in an Old Regular Baptist family, my grandfather was Henry Barney Sr. former "moderator". I was Baptised at the mouth of the Sandy River at Lloyd Ky. by Baxter Osborne. With the rejection of all things "worldly" by the church of the ORB, I am suprised this was filmed.

That's special. I went to the "Little Mary" Church on Smith Branch, near Lloyd Ky; right across the river from Portsmouth Ohio. Also have been to the one started by my Grandfather in Okeechobee Fl; and the "little Rosa" Church on rt 5 near Ironville Ky.

the old scotch, irish and english settlers came across the wilderness road, and brought with them their fundamentalism... they were then sealed off by the mountains they inhabited... and little changed until the railroads came a century later. this is a sight hallowed in time...

is this by any chance ball branch in knott ky? if so that is where my great grandparents were members. used to go when i was little and we would visit. regardless this video made me cry. i miss that singing and preaching. and a baptismal tub just doesn't have the same feel as an old fashioned baptism at the creek. i can't find anything like it where i live. thanks for posting.

Needless to say, I'm guessing not to many Baptisms are performed there in the wintertime! I really enjoyed the video and the balladeers were great! We just don't see these "old tyme" Baptisms here in So. Cal.

@bluegrassgirl08 I saw your comment, and I am really curious about the old regular baptists! I go to a little country church in North GA, and our baptisms are exactly like this. Can I ask a question? Do ya'll have mourner's benches in ORB churches? Or altars?

Come as you are to your Savior. He is the King of kings. He'll wash your sins away, He'll wash your soul from the inside out and give you a new life. THE REAL LIFE! Which can only be found in truth. Jesus is who He says He is. "I am the way the truth and the life"I bear witness of this truth. In Jesus holy name, all glory to THE LORD. Amen.
