Hi there, It’s better to live a bit far away from the council house areas especially you have children or elderly at home. The crime rates are comparatively high there. You may feel a bit dangerous to stay in those areas. Furthermore, it’s better to ask the property agents about the council house areas where’s near your ideal properties or location. They must reply to you honestly but they need not to tell you about it if you don’t ask them about it. Cheers😊

And I heard it would be more difficult to apply for mortgage or even credit card if your address is a council house address.
Unless it's all you can afford to own, it's better to consider buying home elsewhere.

近十年八年政策改變咗,多數要求發展商在獲得新土地發展權後,建一部分單位交回政府做social housing, 所以環境稍為好,但內部質量就差少少

一般租樓網都可以搵到ex-council house，長租短租都有。甚至有人放上Airbnb。
